Hairy Men – Read This
The overwhelming evidence is that Irish men are happier than ever to get Laser Hair Removal.
Some are encouraged by their partners; some by self-consciousness when they take off their shirts, but many are just opting for hair removal as it’s an easy way to maintain a neat appearance.
Laser Hair Removal gives such long-lasting results that it’s handy for guys who don’t want to spend a lot of time shaving, waxing or depilating. If you don’t know what depilating means, you’re probably not doing it.
Tweezing, trimming and snipping are all well and good, but need constant maintenance. The trend is a hairless look, and at Cosmetic Doctor you can get Laser Hair Removal done in places you certainly can’t reach by yourself.
Men of all ages and professions are getting rid of their excess body hair, and some are taking advantage of Cosmetic Doctor’s facial hair removal to tackle fast-growing beards.
Laser treatment involves a laser beam basically killing the hair follicles. It sounds like a Star Wars plot twist, but laser can be focused to target the melanin, or pigment, in your excess hair and will heat it up until the follicle is made sterile.
Results depend on your skin pigmentation and the colour of your hair (dark hair absorbs the laser energy, making it easier to treat), so you will first need to find out if you are a good candidate for the procedure.

Are You a Candidate for Laser Hair Removal?
Men with fair skin and dark hair are the best candidates as the laser can ‘find’ the dark hair easily against paler skin. You can’t have the treatment if you’re tanned, as it confuses the laser and may result in a burn-Cosmetic Doctor just will not treat you.
They do have a laser for treating darker skin types, called the Nd:Yag, which is effective. However, if you are very blonde, grey of have red hair, particularly on your body, the truth is that the laser won’t work – it just can’t ‘see’ the hair.
Results and Costs
Laser hair removal offers the most permanent reduction in quality or quantity of hair as the sterile follicles are rendered useless by the laser treatment, and only grows very thin, pale hair, if at all.
You’ll need a course of treatments as all hair goes through several different stages of a lifecycle, and laser only works on hair in the growth phase of that cycle – not all hairs are in the growth phase at once; so several sessions are needed to catch them all.
The total cost depends on the size of the desired body part, as well as factors like hair density and number of treatments required.
