How long does laser hair removal last?
The time that the skin is free of hair after laser hair removal can vary from one person to another due to different factors such as age, gender, hormonal disorders, drug treatments, etc. Firstly, the area of the body to be treated can influence the duration of the treatment. For example, the half legs and English have excellent results. On the other hand, the facial area requires more sessions due to the high hormonal level of the face.
In addition, the type of hair and skin color also play a crucial role. Laser hair removal works best for people with dark, coarse hair and fair skin, as the laser targets the melanin in the hair. However, advances in laser technology have made it possible to treat different types of hair and skin tones effectively.
The hair growth cycle also affects the duration of laser hair removal. Hair goes through different phases: active growth, rest and fall. Laser hair removal is only effective during the active growth phase, so multiple sessions are required to treat all hair follicles at that stage. Normally, in the facial area it can grow again in about 4 weeks due to hormonal factors, but in the rest of the body it will never take less than 7 weeks. On average, between 6 and 10 laser hair removal sessions are needed to obtain long-lasting results.
