Have you seen the following video on social media recently?
When I saw this, I was thinking to myself, that is awesome! Not that I’m extremely hairy, but I know how painful shaving is. In this post I’ll share with you this magical hair removal cream from Some by Mi.
Packaging
Some by Mi Perfect Clear Hair Removal Cream comes in a large plastic tube of 120g. The tube is foil sealed. I prefer squeeze tubes than tubs for creams like this. Overall the packaging is easy to use and practical. The only thing is the cap opening is a bit small that I had to squeeze quite hard for the amount of product that I’m after. You can screw off the cap and get more product quicker.
Colour
Some by Mi Perfect Clear Hair Removal Cream is a pink colour.
Scent
It has a very strong artificial fragrance, so strong that I could smell it even before opening the box. The scent dissipates after a while. If you smell carefully, you would notice the chemical scent that it’s trying to cover. The chemical scent is reminiscent of hair dyes.
Texture
It has a sticky, solid cream texture, almost paste-like, similar to a body cream.
Application
The instructiona patch test
I applied a small amount to the hair on my forearm and timed exactly 7 minutes. I was a bit scared of skin reactions so didn’t apply a lot. I didn’t feel a thing during the 7 minutes, apart from the slightly cooling sensation it had. This made me even more skeptical that it’s not going to work. I tried pulling one strand of hair at the 5-minute mark and it seemed still attached so I started to get even more disappointed. But when I wiped the cream off using a tissue at the end of 7 minutes, I saw the hair all came off. By the way, this step not required, you can go straight to rinsing off with water, but I tried to get a photo of the hair wiped off.
I then went on rinsing the cream off with warm water. There’s a bit of redness because I was rubbing my arm, but other than that, there was no feeling at all.
Results
Most of the hair on my arm was broken off. Some of it left a small end but you could barely see it from afar. I think it was because I didn’t apply a layer thick enough. A second application would have removed all the hair completely.
There was no damage to the pores or the hair follicles. Overall, there was no irritation to my skin at all. The hair will certainly grow back after a few days and I’ll have to repeat the process, but it’s quite convenient to do. The skin felt soft and smooth.
Price
Some by Mi Perfect Clear Hair Removal Cream retails for 20,000 Won for 120g of product, which is about $25 AUD. I notice Nair has a similar product and is cheaper. I’ve never tried Nair, so cannot compare.
Verdict
Some by Mi Perfect Clear Hair Removal Cream is convenient to use, non-irritating and effectively removed my body hair without any fuss. If you ever wanted a product like this, but not sure if they would work, I can assure you, this one works!
