AlumierMD skincare is a brand that I quickly fell in love with once I started beauty blogging. The entire line is completely effective, and I love how quickly I see results when I use the products consistently.
It was no different when I started adding them to my skincare regime post-medispa treatments. Over the last year and a bit, I’ve been undergoing laser hair removal, OxyGeneo sessions and dabbling with microneedling and botox. These treatments have been – hands down – the best beauty investments I’ve ever made. With laser hair removal, I no longer have to deal with knicks and cuts from shaving. OxyGeneo has made my skin baby soft thanks to its major exfoliation benefits. My forehead no longer looks like parchment found in a mummy’s tomb thanks to Botox and microneedling is starting to make my dish plate-sized pores look smaller… thank God.
Something that I notice with some of these treatments is that my skin gets a little worse before it gets better. I mainly suffer from dryness post-treatment, and AlumierMD’s Recovery Balm is a skin saver. Couple it with AlumierMD’s Lotus Scrub, and your skin recovers that much faster and ends up soft and glowy. These two products have been so stellar, that I thought an in-depth review was in order. Read on!
AlumierMD’s Recovery Balm Post Procedure Treatment
When I first received this balm, I wasn’t quite sure what to do with it. I knew that AlumierMD’s moisturizers were great, so I got to testing.
That morning, I had a laser hair removal session on my linea that was a bit more painful than usual. I chalked it up to spending too much time in the sun (a no-no with this treatment). My skin was a little red and irritated, so I decided to try out the Recovery Balm to take away the sting and diminish the redness. It worked almost instantly. A lightbulb went off in my head and I started using it after all of my skin sessions of any kind.
AlumierMD’s Recovery Balm is made primarily with soothing antioxidant ingredients to calm skin along with Hinokitiol and Sea Whip (an ocean coral), both of which relieve redness. This balm also contains aloe, honey and boswella, also known as Indian frankincense – a powerful anti-inflammatory. Lastly, Recovery Balm contains Sodium Hyaluronate to hydrate and copper peptide to rehabilitate stressed skin.
This rich lotion has a fresh herbal scent and leaves skin looking very dewy and hydrated. It’s definitely one of my favourite soothing moisturizers of all time. Another great use for this balm? It’s great for soothing sunburned skin. This balm is intended for use post-recovery treatments only. Not to be used as a daily moisturizer.
AlumierMD Lotus Scrub
I am a huge advocate of exfoliation. It’s the easiest way to make dull skin look glowy and healthy. Regular, gentle exfoliation has so many benefits too – from healing acne (remember – be gentle) to diminishing hyperpigmentation, AlumierMD’s Lotus Scrub is perfect – gentle and easy to wash off.
The reason why I like this scrub so much is because the lotus seed powder and microcrystalline cellulose (the exfoliants) in this mild formula are easy to wash off! With all scrubs, you must avoid the delicate eye and lip area. In the off chance that you do get a little of this scrub near your eyes, it is easy to wash off! With other scrubs, when rinsing, the granules or crushed shells will get in my eyelashes and be impossible to rinse out, leading to some seriously painful eye irritation. I have yet to suffer this with the Lotus Scrub.
Simply massage a small amount into your wet skin using your fingertips for about one minute then rinse off with warm water. Afterwards, I use my trusty AlumierMD A.G.E. Serum, and the Recovery Balm and voilà! Super soft skin.
Of note, the lotus seed powder acts as a calming agent and leaves skin radiant. The granules in this exfoliant are completely biodegradable. This scrub is suitable for all skin types. I would avoid using any exfoliator if you have severe acne, rosacea or any other dermatological condition. Be sure to consult with your dermatologist first before using this product if you have any skin concerns.
Have you tried any products from AlumierMD? If so, what is your favourite?
