Shaving, tweezing, and waxing. These are all viable ways to get rid of hair, but it always grows back and you have to repeat the process.
Luckily there are other ways to do this that are more or less permanent. You can opt to do either laser hair removal or electrolysis. After a few sessions, your hair won’t grow back. For the most part anyway.
What is the difference, though? Is one better than the other? Well, there are big differences between the two so it is worth exploring the pros and cons to each to see which is going to be better for your needs.

Laser hair removal
To get rid of hair with laser, a technician will trim back your hair to stubble. Then they will adjust the settings of the laser according to your skin and hair color. Though, the procedure works best for those with light hair and skin.
After applying a special gel to the area, a laser is focused on where you want to remove the hair. The laser passes through the skin and damages the root of the hair. This prevents it from growing.
In some cases, the damage is permanent and some of the hair will never grow back. After some time, the root will repair itself and eventually the follicle will grow again.
It takes six to eight treatments to completely remove the hair depending on how much hair is being removed and how thick it is.
The procedure is not painful but some people do find themselves with slight discomfort. To take care of the affected area, some people use a cooling cream. In cases where there is more pain than discomfort the doctor may prescribe a steroid cream to treat it.
Electrolysis
This procedure also works from the roots of the hair but is a bit different. Instead of using a laser to damage the root, it is done with an electrical current.
This is a bit more invasive as the current passes through a micro thin needle. So the needle slightly punctures the skin to get to the root of the hair which can be uncomfortable.
The biggest difference between laser and electrolysis is that electrolysis is actually permanent. Some hair will regrow between sessions, but by the time the sessions are finished the roots are effectively killed to never regrow again.
It also doesn’t matter what type of hair or skin you have as it doesn’t use any light.
Which is better?
The fact is that your needs and comfort level are what will determine which one you should use.
Even though electrolysis is permanent doesn’t make it better because you may not want to permanently remove your hair. Some people just don’t want to shave every few days.
They both work great and make your life infinitely easier.
