With the coming of summer, one thing we all look forward to is hitting the beach and letting loose. Sun-kissed toes, summertime skin glow, and the sound of gushing waves echoing around us make the wait worth it. But before the beach parties kick in, make sure to bring out your sexiest—and comfiest—swimsuit and head to a salon for waxing treatment.
While bikini waxing usually does fulfil the purpose and guarantees you a few weeks of hairless comfort, it might not be the best option. That’s where Brazilian waxing comes in!
What is Brazilian waxing?
While a bikini wax takes gets rid of all the hair along your bikini line, a Brazilian wax helps you get rid of it all. By that, we mean everything around the bikini area. This ensures that the entire area remains hairless, smooth, and clean. This isn’t just important for comfort, but also for hygiene, as it reaches many hard-to-reach areas as well. One of the biggest advantages of Brazilian waxing is how it eventually slows down the growth of the hair down there and allows you to make the most of your summer parties.
Pre-Treatment Tips
Here’s a checklist you need to follow before you walk in for your appointment:
- The first piece of advice would be to leave your embarrassment at home. You’ll be asked to take all your clothes off and lie down completely naked. Don’t be ashamed, though. The practitioners carry out these treatments every day. They won’t judge you on your hair growth. If you have any concerns, share them straight away.
- Make sure your hair is at least 2–3 mm long before you visit the salon. Avoid shaving a few days prior to the appointment.
- Don’t expose the area that’s to be waxed to the sun before the visit.
- Take a shower and lightly exfoliate the skin. This will make the area cleaner and well prepped.
- Avoid putting on any lotions. If need be, your waxing clinic will do it for you.
Post Treatment tips
Please practice the following measures after the treatment to ensure maximum comfort:
- Don’t expose your freshly waxed skin to any sort of heat. Skip hot water baths, tanning, steam treatments, or saunas.
- Don’t touch, scratch, or rub the waxed area if your hands aren’t properly washed as it can lead to further irritation.
- Avoid sexual activity for at least 24 -48 hours.
- You can use a mild exfoliator to prevent ingrown hair.
- Avoid applying any lotions or alcohol based cleansers, unless otherwise advised by the practitioner.
