This is a sponsored blog post on behalf of Lake Austin Spa Resort, but my love of spas and travel excites me about this resort!
As a travel blogger, I’ve scoured the globe for some of the best destinations this planet has to offer (I’m a huge fan of spa getaways, too!). From the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul to the Louvre in Paris, the Riomaggiore castle in Cinque Terre to the Mediterranean surrounding Mallorca, and everywhere in-between; I’ve seen a lot.
However, you don’t need months of travel to go and see things. Sometimes all it takes is a long weekend to enjoy some of the country’s best kept secrets.
Today, I’m focusing on Austin, Texas. And because Valentine’s Day is coming up, I’m feeling a bit more romantic than usual. I start eyeing my husband, admiring his strong jaw line and pearly whites a little more closely. Oh, and you can’t forget those muscles!
I’ve put together the perfect weekend itinerary for you and your lover to have the most romantic stay in Austin. The resort I picked for this caters to health conscious couples like us!
Day 1:
4 PM: Check into Lake Austin Spa Resort, and get dressed for the evening
4:30 PM: Meet at the dock for your Sundown Wine Cruise. This cruise boasts some of the most beautiful scenery as you pass huge homes and shorelines beyond the Lake Austin Spa Resort. You will have a “Texas Pour” glass of wine, fruit, nut and cheese platter.
5:50 PM: Enjoy a nice stroll through the property before having supper at the resort.
Here’s what I suggest from their menu, based on recommendations on Trip Advisor:
Bison Meatballs for a starter
Grilled Lamb Chops (Celeriac puree, chia seed crusted baby carrots, beets, mint chimicurri)
or
a Pan Roasted New York Steak (Smoked rutabaga puree, king oyster mushrooms, creamed kale, bordelaise sauce) for an entrée
After supper, I highly suggest the Texas Starry Night: You’ll have a lavender chamomile oil massage, wrapped to soak in the soothing benefits of lavender with an herbal heat pack on your stomach and a comforting eye pillow. I can’t think of a better way to finish off the evening.
Day 2:
7 AM: Order room service so you may enjoy breakfast in bed.
9 AM: Depending on when you are visiting, there are a multitude of hiking options, which is a great way to burn off breakfast.
11 AM: Get out on the lake and either kayak, hydrobike, paddleboard, or pedalboard
Noon: Enjoy lunch at the Aster Café, which is included in your stay at the Lake Austin Spa Resort.
After lunch, enjoy a refreshing nap together
3 PM: Two of a Kind Massage – you can get a couple’s massage for 80 minutes that finishes off with your feet wrapped in hot towels steeped in eucalyptus essential oil. Is there anything more romantic than getting a massage next to each other?
If you happen to be there during a cooking class, I highly recommend it!
Day 3:
7am: Breakfastbed
9am: Burn off breakfast by doing Boot Camp: Enjoy the fresh lakeside air while you give it all up with a fusion of cross training, functional movement, athleticism and agility. You’ll test your skills and conquer your mind with this all out workout.
10am:
Weekend Warrior Massage – a massage perfect for someone like my husband – he’s a former NANBF certified bodybuilder and is incredibly athletic. Perfect for any fitness junkie. Myself on the other hand, LOVE a good Swedish massage and would do that while my husband got his warrior on, otherwise I’d enjoy one of the many facials offered by the spa.
Check out- noon
Be sure to check the Lake Austin Spa Resort website for specials – often they have romantic packages that include boat tours, champagne, and massages.
