The 28-year-old, of Staines, Surrey, says she is concerned because the £3.89 product is sold as being for people with sensitive skin.
She bought the Smooth Care Facial Hair Removing Cream from Boots in Ashford, Surrey, during the summer.
Jenny said she suffered the worst reaction of her life after trying the cream and took to Facebook on Monday to vent her fury.
She wrote: “Warning! I have recently experienced the worst reaction of my life, after using Smooth Care Facial Hair Removal Cream *For Sensitive Skin.
“It was the equivalent to a chemical burn, with my skin inflamed (bright red, as well as hot to the touch) and peeling, as soon as the cream was removed.
"This soon turned into lots of painful lumps and little pimples, some that would burst only to come back (sorry, gross I know!).
She added: “I just wanted to give a warning to anyone out there who may be looking to use this, or possibly any branded cosmetics products for sensitive skin.
"Because those with sensitive skin will know it is a risk using any new product.
"Also, everyone's skin is different and it could have just been that mine didn't agree with it."
Jenny, speaking today, claims that she is still suffering from the reaction - five weeks after using it.
She added: “It still hasn't completely settled.
"All around the reaction area I keep having the same lumps and little pimples coming up, often in the same place.
"I'm definitely going to have some scarring.”
A spokeswoman for Boots UK said: “We are very sorry to hear about this incident.
"The quality and safety of our products is of the utmost importance to us and we take the safety and wellbeing of our customers very seriously.
"The original product is undergoing testing, however we have rigorously tested samples from several different batches of the same product and results from this testing gave no indication that there was a fault with the product.
“We had previously unsuccessfully contacted the customer by telephone but we are now in touch via email and will be updating her frequently and gathering further information on the changes to her skin.”
