We, Carina and Lisa, sisters and best friends, born and raised in the beautiful capital of Styria, will take you through the city centre of Graz in the coming year and provide you with the latest trends and inspirations, all of which you can shop at the over 700 GrazGutschein partner businesses. We have been blogging together since 2015 and share insights into our lives and the topics of fashion, travel, lifestyle and food on www.blondiebrowniesis.com and Instagram under @Blondiebrownie.sis.
A walk through the city centre of Graz really makes you want to come back in spring and all the shop windows decorated in a spring-like way invite you to stroll around. Today we would like to give you an insight into the latest trends and show you where to find them in Graz.
One of the biggest trends at the moment is batik – the brightly coloured jumpers, shirts and the like can currently be seen in numerous colour combinations and shop windows. You can find a particularly large selection at Infected on the ground floor of Kastner & Öhler, but we also found some at Hämmerle. “Tie dye”, as the trend is called in English, is mostly colourful or pastel and goes perfectly with jeans. If you want to style the trend a little more elegantly, combine your batik hoodie with a blazer.
Besides the Pantone colours of 2021 “Illuminating” yellow and “Ultimate Grey”, purple is still very popular with fashionistas. The “purple trend” has already lasted several seasons and is perfect for spring.
Every year, floral prints dominate the season. Besides these old favourites, palm tree prints are also very popular this year, especially on T-shirts, and one thing is for sure: this trend is perfect for summer and has come to stay.
Oversized denim jackets go more than perfectly with these shirts, and let’s just say that light denim is back in fashion this season.
- Shirts with palm tree print
- Denim jackets, light and oversized
Another classic of the season, the trench coat has become an indispensable part of our wardrobes and of course cannot be missed this year. You can style the trench coat in a variety of ways, from sporty/cool to elegant, and invest in a piece of clothing that will never go out of fashion.
Among the numerous shops where Graz vouchers can be redeemed, hairdressers and beauticians are particularly in demand in spring. Before visiting them, however, a corona antigen test is required, which can be done easily and directly in the city centre at one of the numerous pharmacies that offer it. Pre-registration is not a prerequisite, we have already done such a test spontaneously several times, but it is of course recommended to avoid waiting times. Here you can find all the information about testing: https://www.holding-graz.at/de/covid-19-testen-in-der-innenstadt/
- You can get tested at many pharmacies in the city centre.
- The test result will be sent to you by SMS or email.
After a successful negative antigen test, nothing stands in the way of a visit to one of the more than 25 hairdressers and beauty salons among the GrazGutschein partners.
Treatments to remove annoying hairs are particularly popular in spring. We visited the girls at Averie on Graz’s Hauptplatz and tested a permanent method of hair removal using a diode laser. However, Averie also offers waxing to fight the “winter fur”. However, unlike waxing and the like, laser treatment is a permanent way of getting rid of hair. The prerequisite for this is about 10-15 sessions at intervals of 6 weeks. The exact number of sessions depends on the pigmentation of the hairs and the type of skin.
- Tip: At Averie you can have your hair permanently removed with a diode laser!
