Hair removal options can seem overwhelming, but some great products exist hidden among all the scams.

Friction methods
This option is inexpensive, but it’s only ideal for for legs and arms. It can also work on some fine hair. It does not work well in bikini area, underarms, face, or on coarse hair. See my page on friction for more information.

Tweezers
I rarely make a wholehearted recommendation, but I feel the best tweezers are made by Tweezerman.
Their products are really first rate, and they offer realigning and resharpening on many models. I prefer the wide grip slant models:

Home electrolysis
Note: I do not recommend home electrolysis because it is very difficult to do properly. If you decide to try after reading my tips and tricks, you must use a devices where a thin metal probe inserted into the follicle to touch the hair root directly. This needs to happen to destroy the hair root. Electric tweezers and transdermal and transcutaneous devices often claim to be permanent, but there is no statistically significant evidence that proves this claim, according to the Food and Drug Administration.
These are the only consumer devices on the market that use a metal probe inserted into the hair follicle:
Home laser
Almost every “home laser” should be avoided. Most do not work as claimed, and permanent reduction of hair is unusual. These are lower power than professional lasers offered at clinics and salons, so they are not as effective.
TRIA Beauty (power level is about 7-22 Joules/cm2)
Other products
Silk’n Flash&Go (power level is about 3-5 Joules/cm2)
Rotary epilators
I recommend getting a rotary epilator with an LED light built in. It makes the process much easier, especially on blonde, red, and gray hair.
