Those familiar with wrestling shows during their fantastic run in the late 90s are probably acquainted with the wrestler that went by the name of A-Train. His character was not defined by his bald head and menacing presence, nor by his excellent moves and regal entrance music. No. A-Train is best remembered as that wrestler with the hairy back, that whenever his name was announced and he’s starting to walk that aisle towards the ring, the audience would start screaming, shave you back! Shave your back!
Of course, this was probably not an issue for him, as he worked in an environment where a distinctive mark would help him thrive. But in the real world, unwanted and unsightly hair growth can be quite a problem. It is intimately related to our aesthetic senses, after all, and since no one desires excessive hair, the presence of the same can lead to loss of self-esteem, and this could further lead to more serious repercussions.
Normally, people deal with excessive hair growth through mental methods, like plucking, tweezing, shaving and waxing. These, however, are just temporary solutions, and people would have to do the same tedious tasks once again when the hair grows back. The new field of laser hair removal treatments can provide a better solution.
Technology has led to safe and effective hair removal in the form of laser hair removal treatments. These are permanent remedies as they burn the follicles themselves. Follicles, of course, are the roots of hair, and getting rid of them would mean that hair won’t have grown back.
Though laser hair treatments offer a lot of great benefits, people are still quite hesitant to avail of them. The reason? They are afraid of the many stories about the harmful side effects of the process involved.
Here’s the lowdown: these alleged harmful side effects are nothing but old wives’ tales. Ask any person about the worst consequence that can be had from laser hair removal treatments, and chances are, that person won’t be able to give you an answer. It’s because there is none.
Skin irritation is experienced by 23% of the patients, but this is insignificantly slight, and it subsides in a matter of hours, if not minutes. On certain occasions, swelling is also experienced, especially by patients with very sensitive skin. But this, too, is never grave, and the swelling disappears in a matter of hours, as well.
Laser hair treatments are also carried out by professionals, and some of them are duly licensed if the state requires it. Accidents are almost non-existent, as highly skilled people are at the helm during each treatment.
It would be a pity if people would continue to fear this kind of treatment because of rumors that have festered into myths, and falsely at that. The fact is, laser hair removal treatments are the most effective, the most expedient, and the most permanent solution to excessive hair growth.
