How does IPL hair removal work and is it effective?
IPL (Intense Pulsed Light technology) hair removal uses a device to direct strong pulses of light at pigment in unwanted hair; this sends a rush of heat down the hair’s shaft, damaging or destroying the cells that cause it to grow. You’re likely to need more than one treatment, but the results are effective and permanent.
Is IPL hair removal safe for all skin types?
No. For IPL to work, the device needs to be able to distinguish between the colour of your skin tone and the colour of your hair; it’s therefore not recommended for use on black skin, nor for those with red or light blonde hair.
