ITS stars are buff, beautiful and preened to perfection – but is that Love Island look really achievable away from their Majorca villa?
Inspired by the bronzed figures, sleek hair and sculpted brows of both the guys and the ladies on the hit ITV2 show, we decided to make two Sun readers “proper sorts”.

Step forward Andrew Reid, 29, a ticket box officer and Charli Meredith, 24, a waitress. After our Love Island makeover, single Andrew, from Gorseinon, Swansea, said: “I look and feel so much younger! I guess it is worth the effort. The whole process didn’t feel as weird as I thought it would.
“It’s like I’m an entirely different person. Everyone should be proud of who they are, but this has definitely taught me not to be afraid to experiment and make a bit more of an effort with my looks.”
Charli, from Medway, Kent, who has been with her fiancé for six years, says: “I look way better than I thought I would. I didn’t think I’d suit this look at all, but I do. I think that if I can put the effort in, I could maintain this for a while, though I may ease up on the tan a bit.
“I even got chatted up on the train home, so it must work.”
Makeover for women
EXFOLIATE - £10 IF beauty is only skin deep you want that skin to be stunning – and sloughing off the dead cells provides the perfect start for waxing and tanning.
Leaving skin soft and smooth, it also helps avoid ingrown hairs.
Charli sets to work with St Tropez prep and maintain body polish.
She says: “This doesn’t seem too extreme.
“So far the makeover is a breeze as I exfoliate every now and again anyway.”
WAX - £5.29
KEEP legs looking lovely for longer by ditching razors for waxing.
But defuzz 24 hours before spray-tanning for best results.
Using Superdrug’s sensitive wax strips Charli admits: “I have really sensitive skin so I don’t remove body hair as often as I’d like as it usually hurts and irritates me more.
“I’m generally a shaver, but I guess the Love Island girls have to always look their best.”
SPRAY TAN - £47.95
FAKING it is a golden opportunity to pep up pastiness for us girls not lucky enough to swan around in Majorca.
Olivia sets to work on Charli, this time picking 12% spray tan.
Olivia says: “It smells like Ibiza!
“It’s crazy to see how quickly you change colour and seeing my pale skin look
different.
“I have to admit life is better with a tan.”
HAIR EXTENSIONS - £140
THE girls in the villa certainly let their hair down – and you can too with some clip-in hair extensions (vixenandblush.com).
They’ll add length and volume to create luscious locks.
Charli says: “I have really fine hair so I love how long and thick it looks.
“This is definitely worth the effort. I feel like a mermaid.”
MAKE-UP - £149.49
WHEN Love Island’s glam girls get dolled up, they really go for it.
Charli says: “I usually just wear a bit of foundation, blusher and mascara.
“I would never think to do my make-up like this but it looks great for a night out.
“It’s not as much make-up as I thought it would be but I would have to save it for special occasions.
“Surely no one has time to do this every day!”
Bare Minerals foundation, £28, Bobbi Brown concealer, £19.50, Becca Highlighter, £32, Mac eyeshadow palette, £49.50, Buxom lip cream, £15, Ardell Demi Wispies False Lashes, £5.49.
BOOB CONTOURING - £220
IN their cute cossies and barely there bikinis, the Love Island lasses aren’t shy of showing off their curves.
But if you fancy boosting your bust assets, you can with a few clever brushstrokes thanks to the Bobbi Brown BBU Palette.
Charli says: “Sure I don’t have the biggest boobs, but I’ve never felt like I needed to contour them and make them look different.
“This is a step too far.”

Makeover for men
EXFOLIATE - £
PREPPING skin before any waxing or tanning is key to a flawless finish so use an exfoliator to buff away dead cells and leave you silky smooth.
Andrew gets to work with St Tropez prep and maintain body polish (sttropeztan.co.uk).
He says: “It smells nice but feels a bit weird. It’s so gloppy but my skin feels nicer already so I can deal with that.”
WAX - £5.29
MOST of the guys in the villa prefer to show off their ripped torsos fuzz-free. So time to put Andrew’s chest to the test with sensitive wax strips from Superdrug.
Andrew says: “I have a lot of body hair and like to keep that natural, but it feels kind of liberating to be hair-free.”
HAIR - £5.99
YOU’D look a right “melt” on the show without hair gel, so sorting the barnet is a must.
Andrew has the slick look licked thanks to Fish Original gel.
He says: “I never thought about combing my hair back like this. It’s opened up my eyes to a new style.”
SPRAY TAN - £47.95
THE lads are having a tan-tastic time in Majorca.
But for ordinary guys not lucky enough to spend summer by the pool, the bronze rage is super simple thanks to spray tan.
Andrew gets some get up and glow thanks to celebrity tanner Olivia Todd applying Sienna-X 16% spray tan (sienna-x.co.uk).
Andrew says: “I look like a Greek god!
“I look more masculine and defined – and my awkward T-shirt tan lines are gone.
“I was worried how orange I’d look, but I could be open to the idea of a spray tan again.”
EYEBROWS - £20.49
THEY’RE a plucky lot those Love Island lads – teasing out stray hairs to help their brows frame their “fit” faces. But is it the shape of things to come for Andrew?
He says: “Eyebrows are best left alone. I can deal with plucking the odd stray, but filling in the gaps with make-up is a bit much!”
A little work with Superdrug tweezers and a Bobbi Brown eyebrow pencil and his brows are the tweak of perfection.
ABS CONTOURING - £220
THE gym-obsessed boys in the villa jump at the chance to show off their abs.
But if your six-pack is sitting in the fridge, not on your torso, fake it with crafty contouring.
A Bobbi Brown BBU Palette (bobbibrown.co.uk) has a great array of skin tones.
Andrew says: “I stay fit by doing cardio rather than weights so I don’t have defined muscles, but my abs look pretty impressive now.
“I’d rather have a washboard torso instead of faking it.”
