“As you can see I am out and about in town getting down with the kids and today I'm getting my youthful presence done in my bum area,” Joe said.
“I'm having a back sack and crack - starting with my bum,” he continued, as the cameras panned back to show him on all fours with a strong stomached beautician fast at work on his anal area.
Turning to the beautician, Joe asked: “Is this going to hurt, love?” to which she bluntly replied: “Yes it will.”
Preparing for pain, Joe continued: “Thanks for that. Here we go again. Do your worst!”
As the beautician ripped off the was that had been applied to Joe’s sensitive area, the bespectacled star let out an agonising yell of pain.
The studio audience also screamed while host Bradley manically laughed – and the beautician managed to keep a straight face as she carried on professionally.
“It feels like you've pulled a badger out, love!” Joe said, adding: “See you back at the studio. Hopefully. I might just lay down and put some ointment on.”
Indeed, Joe did not return for the rest of the show.
Viewers were distraught by the stunt with one branding it “absolutely gross” on Twitter.
Another questioned why Joe is being subject to painful tasks this week while Bradley gleefully watches from the comfort of the studio, and mused: “Did Joe Pasquale sleep with Bradley's Wife and this is his revenge?”
On Monday, viewers winced as Joe had a nipple piercing injected live explaining that he was doing it to "boost your viewing figures, Bradley".
Bradley Walsh will host The Nightly Show all week on ITV at 10pm.
