IT'S about 30 seconds of discomfort and awkwardness in the safe hands of a medical professional which could save your life.
But smear tests are at a 20-year low, with more and more women being diagnosed with cervical cancer.

The test can pick up changes to the cells in the cervix which if left untreated could develop into cervical cancer.
But too many women are still snubbing their smear test - even though it could save your life.
