Allure Aesthetics AZ owner Taylor Moody is all about clear, healthy skin.
Many of us wouldn’t know the difference between an aesthetician and an esthetician, but there is a clear distinction, and Allure Aesthetics AZ owner Taylor Moody is eager to explain.
As Lead Master Aesthetician, Moody stated that aesthetics specializes in medical skin treatments and estheticians are more holistic, performing mostly cleansing and cleaning procedures.
“At Allure Aesthetics AZ, skin is our passion, specifically mine,” said Moody. “No matter what your skin condition – rosacea, acne, dark spots, wrinkles, anti-aging preventative skin care – we give treatment plans to give our clients confidence from the inside out and we craft a treatment plan to allow for youthful skin.”
Born and raised in Flagstaff, Moody said she was never a “skin guru” in high school. “I didn’t even know there were ways to treat or care for skin,” she said. “It was one of those things I started doing and knew immediately I was meant to do it. It felt so natural.”
With a scholarship to the University of Arizona, Moody’s intentions were to study pre-med with a possible future in dermatology, but she abandoned that path and set her eyes on Utah, where she obtained a license in Medical Aesthetics at the National Institute of Medical Aesthetics (NIMA). She graduated top of her class.
“I wanted to be more hands-on with the skin,” said Moody, who at one time struggled with acne. “That encouraged me to learn for myself how I can treat it. Today, I dedicate 90% of my time on my acne program. We’re able to treat it in about three to four months.”
Moody says she sees her acne clients about every other week and uses gentle and corrective chemical peels plus a home routine.
“We prescribe a morning and evening customized skin care regime for our clients that is totally for their specific skin needs,” she said. “We also execute sensitivity tests to be sure all products are comfortable with our clients’ skin, ensuring there are no irritations or side effects. Our whole philosophy is to take time to get to know the root cause of skin concerns, such as diet, medications, hormones, cosmetics and work life.”
“Taylor is a miracle worker,” said T3 Construction Co-owner, Jennifer Thompson. “I’ve battled acne since middle school. I tried everything over the years, from antibiotics, birth control pills and elimination diets, even Accutane. It was very humiliating to have these skin issues that are so visible. I felt hopeless, but my husband encouraged me to go to Allure Aesthetics AZ. Taylor made me feel comfortable and normal. She explained the treatment process clearly and sent me home. Within a few months, my face was smooth and clear, and I now have the youthful skin that I never had in my teens and 20s. She is incredible.”
Allure Aesthetics AZ also specializes in laser hair removal, utilizing the Motus AY, Europe’s top aesthetic laser manufacturer. “This system is fast, effective and totally comfortable,” said Moody.
“Meeting Taylor has been the best thing that has happened to me,” said Flagstaff resident Vanessa Villaverde. “During the pandemic, I gave birth to my daughter and needed a postpartum ‘pick me up’ and social outing to boot. At 23 years old, Moody says her parents, who own Mammoth Restoration in Flagstaff, spawned her entrepreneurial spirit.
“My parents gave me a lot of guidance and helped me to feel empowered to start my business. I also knew that Flagstaff was desperate for more skincare options.”
Both Moody and her long-time boyfriend, Garrett Reinoso, who owns Wicked Welding, like to spend their free time at Lake Powell and archery hunting for elk and deer.
Spending time with family and friends is also a priority for Moody. “My brother is in the military, serving in the Army as a military policeman. He is based out of Colorado Springs, so we try to visit often.” FBN
