Is Laser Hair Removal suitable for all skin types?
Laser hair removal is suitable for all skin types! At Laser Clinics we have two different kinds of laser technologies – one of which caters to a fairer skin type and the other to a darker skin type. Both are very safe, very fast and very effective.
Does it permanently remove hair?
Our lasers provide customers with permanent hair reduction – with every treatment the hair grows back thinner and lighter. Some people find they need maintenance sessions every now and then for a couple of stray hairs, but the reduction is permanent!
Is Laser Hair Removal painful?
One of the benefits of laser hair removal is that it is virtually painless, especially compared to waxing! Our laser hair removal technology is safe enough to be used on any part of the body and target different skin types whilst ensuring maximum results. All of our lasers feature a unique dynamic cooling device that helps to calm, soothe and protect the skin. Each laser pulse lasts less than a second and gives customers a sensation that can best be described as a tingling.
When is the best time of year to get laser hair removal?
Laser hair removal can be done all year round! We find a lot of our clients like to start their laser hair removal treatments in September as the UK is heading into winter. They then continue their treatment cycles through until the following summer. We generally advise our clients to avoid direct sun exposure for 1-2 weeks following a laser hair removal treatment. Some of our clients also like to use the ‘summer months’ to start doing skin treatments in order to prepare and strengthen their skin for the upcoming winter.
How many treatments will I need?
Depending on your hair and skin type, as well as the area being treated, treatments are usually required at 4-6 weekly intervals. Each part of the body has a different cycle of hair growth, so the resultant hair loss will vary depending upon which phase of the growth cycle the hair follicles are at the time of treatment. On average, at least 10 treatments are usually required for a permanent result.
What are the associated risks?
Laser hair removal works by directing concentrated light onto the hair follicle, inhibiting the hair’s ability to grow without disrupting or damaging the skin’s surface. As part of this process, the laser delivers heat into the skin and in a small minority of cases can result in minor redness, irritation and/or burns. Laser Clinics UK only employs highly trained therapists and uses the highest quality medical grade lasers, to deliver our laser hair removal treatments – this greatly reduces the chances of adverse events! We also provide our clients with guidance on recommended protocols for treatment preparation and aftercare advice to further reduce the chances of an unwanted event.
