CurrentBody Skin Laser Hair Removal Device vs Others
Unlike most at home hair removal devices, the CurrentBody Laser Hair Removal Device uses clinic grade laser as opposed to IPL.
The laser that CurrentBody uses is a technology uses a more targeted and concentrated light wavelength than IPL. It creates a very strong beam that focuses in a singular direction.
This type of laser is able to penetrate deep into the hair follicle as opposed to the wide beam of IPL that other devices use, which tends to also hit the surrounding skin rather than just the follicle. See the diagram below which will help to demonstrate this.
As you can see, the concentrated light penetrates deeper into the hair follicle
than the broader IPL beam and this means that it can destroy more of the follicle in one session to make sure the hair reduction is permanent.
The kind of laser technology employed by CurrentBody is able to permanently disable the hair follicle right at the root for long-lasting results. Additionally, the treatment window is larger than any I have seen, which means you can cover the whole body really quickly.
You may only ever need to top up annually because after the initial treatment course, the hair removal results are clinically proven to last up to 1 year after the final treatment. For IPL hair removal, top up treatments are usually required every 6 to 8 weeks.
Until now, there hasn’t been an at-home device that can offer these types of results. Previously, this was exclusive to professional clinics. Step-by-Step Guide: Achieving Full Body Results
Make sure you check out my Instagram Highlight on Laser Hair Removal for a demo, however, here is a quick guide:
Step 1: Carry out a patch test at least 24 hours before first treatment
Step 2: Shave the treatment area at least 4 hours beforehand and ensure the area is clean and dry
Step 3: Plug in and hold the power button down for 2 seconds to start the device
Step 4: Double press to enter ‘ready’ mode
Step 5: Switch through the intensity levels by pressing the power button
Step 6: Press the treatment window firmly against the skin and move in a stamp and release’ motion along the treatment area
If the device is inactive for 10 seconds, the device will enter ‘standby’ mode. To turn off the device, press and hold the power button down for 2 seconds.
