Veet Infini Silk Pro Hair Removal Review

While there are other companies who caution against using their machines on coarse hair or just don’t mention the subject at all, Veet isn’t afraid to advertise this device as a solution for problem areas.

Yes, coarse hair is naturally more difficult to deal with, but Veet is confident that their Infini’Silk Pro can handle the challenge.

Their customers agree.

Many report that it works just fine even on very thick, coarse hair. You may need a few more treatments than you would if your hair were finer, but the job will still get done eventually.

With Pigment Detection

The lamp can handle only a few thousand pulses, while it’s also one of the slowest laser treatment processes we reviewed. Why, then, did we include it in our list of the best home laser devices?

Sure, it works well on coarse hair and that’s a definite plus, but what else makes it worthy of being on a review list like this?

Like a couple of other options, this IPL gadget will detect your skin tone and adjust its settings accordingly. You can either set your own level of intensity, or rely on this feature.

Most women choose to start with a setting they trust on their dominant skin tone and then allow the automatic skin tone sensor to alter the level if they move to a darker or lighter area. This is especially useful for women with birthmarks, scars, patches of freckles, or multi-toned skin.

Why is it so helpful?

Not only will it ensure that the job is completed more effectively, it will also prevent burns.

Prudent Hair Removal Claims

Veet doesn’t make the same kind of claims you may see other companies make. According to their own website, you can only expect to see up to a 70% reduction in hair growth.

So, according to them, you will have less hair – by a substantial amount – in the areas you treat after about 8 to 12 treatments. You will still have to wax or shave to eradicate hair completely, but you won’t have to do so nearly as often.

At least on paper, this assertion means that this machine is less effective than others, which claim to offer up to 95% hair reduction in fewer treatments.

We still like it, though. Despite its apparent shortcomings, this device manages to be one of the most popular in terms of sales numbers. Many home users have reported that a figure of only 70% reduction is overly conservative in most cases. Some women have even reported absolutely no regrowth at all.

We suspect that Veet, as a trusted brand with deep roots in the hair removal industry, is just being cautious in its advertising. This is probably smart, since several companies who make more ambitious claims have been clobbered by negative feedback from consumers who aren’t satisfied with their hair loss.

Pros

  • Works well even on thick, coarse hair.
  • Its large 4-square-centimeter treatment area helps you get the job done faster.
  • The pigment detector will adjust the laser treatment to match your skin's needs.

Cons

  • Not intended for use on grey hair, light blonde hair, or red hair. Isn't even recommended for dark blonde hair shades.
  • Veet does not recommend using this product on your face.
  • Requiring 8 to 12 treatments, it takes much longer to achieve results than with many other models.
