Intrigued by Polynucleotides injectables? We’ve got you covered. We sent Arcadia’s regular contributor, Kirsty Welsh, to find out more about this trending aesthetic treatment making waves as the freshest natural skin rejuvenation injectable on the market.
When a new aesthetic treatment launches, I’m the first in the queue to road-test it. With two kids and nearing my 40s, anything to make me look less tired in the morning without having to cake myself in makeup for the school and nursery run is a winner in my eyes. The multitude of benefits that Polynucleotides deliver is a real game-changer.
Now here’s the science part: Polynucleotides basically kickstart regeneration in the skin by boosting the skin and tissues on a cellular level. They up-regulate fibroblast cells, improve tissue regeneration, and restore the skin. This injectable bio-stimulator, crafted from purified salmon DNA fragments (sorry, not one for vegans), encourages collagen and elastin production, targeting the two essential proteins within the skin that decrease with age.
How do Polynucleotides differ from dermal fillers and Profhilo? Well, Polynucleotides work at a deeper level to repair the DNA of the skin’s collagen and elastin in a natural and long-lasting way.
The results of this wonder treatment are often raved about on TikTok and Instagram, where the procedure is also demonstrated live…look away if you don’t like needles! The results speak for themselves: think dramatically faded under-eye dark circles, a serious glow, strengthened skin, improved hydration levels, reduced hyperpigmentation, and diminished acne scarring.
I headed to Thérapie, where I knew I would be in safe hands with the team after already experiencing laser hair removal and HydraFacials at many of their London clinics. Walking into the shiny marble-tiled reception inside Thérapie on Wigmore Street, I found the destination buzzing with Londoners getting their aesthetic and laser fixes. I booked in with Dr. Katarzyna Molenda Wasilewska, a Cambridge graduate medical doctor specialising in aesthetic medicine, who certainly knows a thing or two about anti-ageing. Knowledgeable and experienced, with her own aesthetic clinic in Cambridge, this polo-playing doctor makes you feel at ease from the moment you step into her room. Her work is natural, and she’s not afraid to turn patients away if they want something that isn’t going to work for their face structure.
The procedure starts with numbing cream for 20 minutes. I opted for the neck, below the eyes, and cheek area (targeting my teen acne scarring). I’m not going to lie – the injection process wasn’t the most relaxing experience, but it was over so quickly. Post-treatment, there is redness from the needles, and bruising is to be expected. LED light is advised to calm the bruising, which is ideal if you have a LED mask at home. You need to avoid excessive sweating for 48 hours after Polynucleotides to speed up the healing process and to avoid further bruising, so no steam rooms, saunas, hot showers, or sweaty workouts – fine for me as I’m a Pilates girl at heart.
Results are visible from the first session, but after my course of three treatments (the recommended dose), I can confirm my skin is visibly smoother and my scarring faded. I’m not playing dot-to-dot with cover-up on my face as much, my cheeks are plumper in a natural way, and my smile lines are softer. Am I confident enough to leave the house without make-up now? You got it. Would I book again, I hear you ask? Absolutely. I’ve already booked in for my winter top-up. See you soon, Thérapie Wigmore Street.
From £275 per session, a course of three is advised for maximum results
