CALGARY (660 NEWS) – The City of Calgary is now forcing the closure of more services and sports in Calgary.
As of 6 p.m. Friday evening, all personal care services, body-rub services, non-critical health services are to close down.

Non-critical health services can include physiotherapy and massage services.
Included in the closures are organized sports and skate parks, in addition to the earlier closure of playgrounds ordered this week.
Fields and parks are still open, but large-scale activities will not be happening on them.
Mayor Naheed Nenshi said the province may issue similar orders, however, the city wanted to be proactive.

“Whether you’re talking about tattoo parlours, or spas, or aestheticians, or threading and waxing services and so on, it’s just not possible to stay safe,” he said. “Most of those businesses have in fact closed, but we’ve heard from a number of them ‘can you just issue the order so it’s clear to us?’”
CEMA Chief Tom Sampson said in the Friday update that unfortunately some of these closures had to come because people simply “aren’t getting it right now” and continued to gather in large groups or leave their homes for non-essential services.
Staff will be out over the weekend to ensure compliance with both businesses and Calgarians who are enjoying the nicer weather to make sure guidelines are being followed.
“There’s a few of you just bunching up regardless of what we say, and we need you to do the right thing and I need to be very clear about that,” said Sampson. “So go out, but spread out.”
Sampson added that the recent provincial order allowing bylaw officers to ticket people for not following the rules is helpful, and while they only have seven officers available for that they are looking at enlisting the help of Calgary Transit Peace Officers.
Nenshi added that these new measures underscore the need for everyone to do their part in flattening the curve and limiting the spread of the virus through the community.
“Even if you are healthy and fit, you are not invincible,” Nenshi said. “The government won’t save you from this virus. You will save yourself from this virus.”

• Hair removal, electrolysis, waxing and non-medical laser treatments
• Aesthetics, including manicures, pedicures and facials
• Shampooing, cutting, removing, coloring, treating or styling hair
• Hair extensions
• Hair replacement
• Shaving, massaging or otherwise treating the face or scalp
• Baths including a steam cabinet, steam bath, hot tub or sauna
• Body piercing
• Physical fitness conditioning
• Tanning
• Tattooing, including eyebrow microblading, permanent and semi-permanent makeup
• Non-permanent tattoos, henna
• Massage
