With more men taking a keen interest in grooming themselves, eyebrow waxing has been welcomed after much debate. Let’s take a look at how to still look manly even after having your eyebrows waxed and shaped perfectly.
No more painful tweezing sessions that leave you sore and red; eyebrow waxing is here to the rescue. While the notion that women have a stronger threshold for pain is an old truth, men have surprisingly toughened up over the years. The pain that comes with waxing is brief, refreshing, and cleanly executed. Its smooth, swift, and long-lasting results, is what makes it a popular choice. Men can benefit from this hair-removal technique, where tons of guys get their chests, backs, arms, and even legs waxed.
Now, eyebrows too have made it to the list, with bushy brows no longer a long-standing issue. Women love it when a man has perfectly-shaped eyebrows that don’t threaten to come off as feminine, but super hot.
Steps Involved in Eyebrow Waxing
Before we dive into the details, it is important for men who are trying this at home, to be careful and precise while waxing their brows. One small slip and you’ll be locking yourself indoors for weeks before hair returns. Nervous? Get a professional to do it for you, or learn how to do it before attempting such a feat.
- First, you will have to heat the wax as per the instructions provided in the home waxing kit. The wax should be hot enough to adhere to your brow hair. However, make sure that it is not scalding hot; you don’t want to sizzle your brows. It should be warm to the touch.
- With a small toothbrush, comb your eyebrows against the direction of growth, so that its shape is clearly visible. Then, lightly mark the areas from where you want to remove hair, using a felt pen (not waterproof, please!). Dab a little witch hazel on the section you’re about to perform the waxing on, to minimize the pain.
- If the wax doesn’t come in ready-made strips, take some of the loose wax with the plastic spatula that comes with the package, and apply it on the areas with the markings. If it touches a spot that isn’t supposed to be waxed, use a cotton swab soaked in coconut oil to wipe the wax away.
- Once the wax is applied, place the removal strip on the area and rub it vigorously. In one swift move, rip the strip against the hair growth. While this may cause a little pain, it will subside almost immediately; you can gently massage the area if the pain lingers.
- Repeat the same procedure for the other eyebrow. If you notice any stray hair standing around, use a pair of tweezers to get rid of them.
Gently massage a little aloe vera or coconut oil into your eyebrows, to allow the slight swelling to go down. To perform eyebrow waxing like a pro, use an eyebrow template to help you acquire a shape that really brings out your eyes and facial features, where you can use it as a guide the next time around.
