Have you ever considered electrolysis hair removal? Just like weeds, hair can sprout up and spread on any area of the body. Unwanted hair can grow fast and can spread from the head to the back, down to the legs, and even around the face. Hair is of course beautiful, especially as your crowning glory, but if it grows on the back, the chin, or upper lip, it can be dreadfully embarrassing. Shaving or waxing may instantly remove unwanted hair, but these are just temporary solutions. Fortunately, there are procedures that can be performed to permanently reduce hair growth. One method is through electrolysis.
What is Electrolysis Hair Removal?
Electrolysis is a technique used for hair removal. It is permanent because hair is removed directly from its follicles. With electrolysis, the hair follicles are destroyed and therefore cannot re-grow hair.
The process generally involves using a probe that is inserted in each hair follicle. Electric current runs through the probe and creates a chemical reaction in the follicles that loosens up the hair during the process.
There are 3 methods of electrolysis:
- The first is Galvanic Electrolysis. This process uses direct current through a needle that is inserted into the hair follicle. As the current travels, the reaction causes the production of sodium hydroxide, which kills the hair follicle instantly. This method is used for hair that is coarse. Galvanic units are able that use multiple needles at once, so the electrologist will simply have to suspend the device over the area to be treated and can instantly target a large area of the body at one time.
- The second method is Thermolysis. In this method, high frequency energy is used instead of electric current. This method also uses a probe to deliver the energy to the hair follicles. The energy is radiated into the follicles and heats the surrounding tissues. The heat will then damage the base of the hair follicles to prevent future hair growth.
- The third method is a Blend. As its name suggests, it is a combination of galvanic and thermolysis. It combines electric and high frequency energy to deliver heat to the hair follicles.
It is up to you to decide which electrolysis method to use for permanent hair removal, but make sure that you consult an expert before making your decision. It is also imperative that you have any electrolysis hair removal done in a sterilized location. You lower your risks and increase your chances of positive results when a skilled professional performs the procedure. It is also a good idea to consult with a physician as well as there are health conditions that may develop if your body has a bad reaction to electrolysis hair removal procedures.
