That’s why we offer basic esthetics, master esthetics, and comprehensive esthetics programs. Right now is a great time to start pursuing your passion if you’re interested in skincare. According to The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the job outlook for skincare specialists is 11% which is much faster than average! Here are some of the careers you can pursue with an esthetics license:
1. Spa Esthetician/Manager/Owner
Even though there are plenty of estheticians who want to work in a spa or salon, that doesn’t mean it’s any less exciting than other careers you could have! Spas usually incorporate a variety of services, so you can use a lot of the training you received in school in your job! Depending on the spa you work at, you could be offering services such as:
- Facials
- Advanced exfoliation treatments
- Eyelashes and eyebrows
- Nailcare
- Waxing
- Body treatments
- Laser hair removal
- Advanced modalities
- And more!
If you’re super passionate about esthetics and helping other people work in the industry, becoming a spa manager or even owner could be a rewarding position for you one day as well!
2. Eyelash and Brow Specialist
Becoming an eyelash extension or lash and brow tinting specialist could be an exciting and rewarding career. Lash extensions and tinting are becoming very popular! Lash extensions and lash tinting can be a great alternative to mascara and false lashes. And, as more and more people want natural-looking eyebrows with a bit of pop, eyebrow tinting or waxing can be the solution! https://www.instagram.com/p/B7845wqACNN/ Lash and brow artists can work in a variety of spas and salons doing what they love! We could always use a good, professional lash and brow artist. However, they are harder to find because now you must carry a specific license to perform lash procedures. Luckily, at Skinworks School of Advanced Skincare, we include this training with our curriculum so you don’t have to enroll in a separate course.
3. Makeup Artist
If you love to unleash your creative side, makeup artistry might be the perfect place for you. Every face is a different canvas, ready for you to create something new. Makeup artists can work freelance, be a personal artist for an influencer or celebrity, or work in a salon or spa! The career options are almost endless.
4. Medical Esthetician
That’s right, you don’t have to go to medical school to work with patients at a doctor’s office. If you’re interested in working in a medical setting, helping with post and pre-op patients, and using advanced treatments, you might love a job as a medical esthetician! You can have the opportunity to work with dermatologists, plastic surgeons, or medical spas. This type of training is included in our master esthetics program.
5. Hair Removal Specialist
Shaving can be a hassle! That’s why a lot of people are turning to hair removal to avoid the razor. Hair removal specialists can work in several types of spas and salons. There are plenty of spas that incorporate waxing and laser hair removal into their variety of services, or you can work at a business that specializes in hair removal.
6. Beauty Blogger/Influencer
Social media is a huge deal nowadays in building up clientele and a portfolio for those interested in your services! If social media and blogging are a passion of yours, then becoming a beauty blogger is something that you could pursue! People could look to you as a reliable source for different tips and tricks in the industry, beauty routines, and products that you love to use on yourself and your clients. Many times, if you can build up a big enough following, you can be paid by brands and companies to represent and recommend their products on social media!
