Owner Senior Hair Stylist

Tony Shamas is an experienced hair colourist and stylist, well known for creating the best blonde highlights in Toronto.

With more than 30 years of experience in the hair business, Tony Shamas now heads an experienced and bonded team of hair stylists.

Originally from Bagdad, Iraq where he lived until he was 6, Tony traveled and moved from place to place frequently while growing up, with his father, a physicist, and his mother, a hairdresser, and has lived in many countries including Egypt, Algeria, Italy and Spain.

After settling down in Canada, Tony started his apprenticeship in a hair salon in Clarkson, Mississauga. He knew it was his calling and proceeded studying Applied Arts & Visual Design.

Hair styling is a gift that runs in the family, his mother Bushra and brother are also hair stylists and operate their own salon in Canada.

“My mother was always invited at Gala events and the most refined parties when we lived in Egypt and Italy, she was the queen of beauty “recalls Tony”.

Although she was always surrounded by flawlessly dressed women with beautiful hair, she taught me that “the most important relationship you will ever have, it is the one you have with yourself”.

In order to make other people happy, you first have to be happy within yourself, specially if you are going to create art with their hair.

Tony has an outgoing personality and delights greatly in his guests’ satisfaction.

He has coloured and styled the hair of entire teams at the most fashionable and hip Canadian magazines, as well as many International actresses and singers, including Lara Daans and Janet Jackson.

Maureen B

Advanced Hairstylist

Maureen B is an experience hairstylist and hair colourist in downtown Toronto at Tony Shamas with over 11 years of experience.

Maureen loves giving layered haircuts for women’s with voluminous and lasting blow-outs, and trendy hair styles to men.

She has great experience with blonde highlights, balayage and hair colouring but also with long layered haircuts on both fine and thick hair.

Maureen is also our top hair stylist that performs Keratin Treatments with our brand of choice Peter Coppola Keratin Concept.

Master Hairstylist

Tina inherited her passion for hair styling at an early age.

Her skills, commitment and years of experience, led her to work on many fashion shows and photo shoots.

Originally from Toronto, Tina graduated in cosmetology and fashion illustration.

Her desire to thrive in an environment that was worthy of her ambitions is what brought her to Tony Shamas, where she joined the creative team.

Tina has extensive knowledge on L’Oreal and Kevin Murphy products as well as in-salon Kerastase treatments to make sure you’ll leave with a fresh and healthy looking style.

Clarissa

Advanced Hair Stylist

Clarissa was introduced to hairstyling at a young age through beauty tips and hair tutorials through YouTube,since then she has been hooked.

Through co-op in high school Clarissa learned the ropes of the hairstyling industry with Donato’s.

She went further on to graduate from Donato’s Academy of Hairstyling to fuel her passion.

Since then, Clarissa has worked in other salons around the TORONTO area to gain experience, to eventually work at Tony Shamas hair & laser, where she is happily enjoying to master her craft.

She loves to make people smile with their hair and make them feel beautiful and confident with quality hairstyling.

Laser Technician

Karissa is our laser technician who preforms all the laser services such laser hair removal and skin tightening for both men and women.

Graduated from the Canadian Beauty College Toronto campus with honours, Karissa is a certified medical aesthetician who has been in the industry for over 10 years.

Karissa has a very positive attitude as well as an outgoing vibrant personality.

Ivan B

Salon Coordinator

Ivan B is the co-owner and salon artistic director.

Managing the direction of the hair salon and making sure everything runs smoothly.

Ivan is originally from Italy, and has lived part of his life in the South of Brazil, South Florida and finally moved permanently here in Toronto.

Ivan is also a certified laser hair removal and skin tightening technician who graduated at the Canadian Beauty College – Downtown Toronto Campus, however, does not perform laser hair removal treatments.

Usually, Ivan is also the salon coordinator and is responsible for curating the lovely music that is being played in salon and selects personally the fashion shows displayed on the TV’s in the colour area.
