If you are looking for a place where you can do all of this, head to The Body Spa and Waxing Lounge. Located on the second floor of Fairway Residences along Capitol Hills Drive in Quezon City, it provides natural wellness and beauty treatments that are ideal for anyone who is looking for a quick escape in the city.
Behind this spa and waxing lounge are siblings Von Bryan Cuerpo and Ethel Faye Bernales. Von Bryan is a corporate lawyer and award-winning blogger while Ethel Fhaye is the owner of the popular children’s fashion brand Celestina and Co. This business venture is the collaboration of their skills as professionals and entrepreneurs.
Minette and I were lucky to have met Von and Ethel when we visited the spa one Saturday afternoon. Before experiencing the services ourselves, they toured us around the spa first. Immediately, we were able to confirm something: the spa looked exactly how it appeared in photos posted online. It was not like other establishments that only looked good in photographs.
We easily fell in love with the place. We loved its interiors, including the color scheme of the furniture and fixtures inside. It was also very quiet inside, so customers could really disconnect from the rest of the world for a moment of relaxation.
And those were just a few of the things we loved about this establishment. Apart from its ambience and perfect location, it also took pride in its well-trained and experienced staff.
To make the spa experience even better, they have decided to only use natural products.
“Our massage oils are all-natural, so they are good for you skin. We definitely do not use cheap massage oils used in other massage places, which are really petroleum by-products, and which can be toxic for your skin. We also have premium, organic massage oils, made in-house, which you can order as an add-on so that you can really boost the benefits for your skin,” Von answered when asked about the products used in their spa.

“We try to go all-natural as much as possible because we understand that clients are going back to basics, and they realize that, most of the time, simpler is better. You can see this philosophy in a lot of our products, from massage oils, to our body treatments, down to the sugar-based wax we use for our waxing services. So we do try to look for suppliers who believe in the same things we do so that we can only offer the best to our clients,” Ethel added.
Despite all of this, the services offered by The Body Spa and Waxing Lounge have remained within reach. This has to do with their philosophy that a spa experience should be comfortable and excellent at very affordable rates.
“The idea is that we wanted to balance this philosophy of providing only the best, but at costs that aren’t prohibitive. It was a bit of a balancing act, since we wanted to use natural, premium ingredients but at the same time, we wanted the spa experience to be as affordable as it can be, without sacrificing quality,” Ethel added. Of course, all of this made us excited to try out some of their services.
Minette had the Premium Dead Sea Salt Therapy Treatment. This one-of-a-kind body spa treatment combined the luxurious scent of vanilla with the various skin care benefits of lavender and Dead Sea salt. It was also an intense exfoliation treatment paired with a premium mineral-rich marine mask that helped lighten, rejuvenate, and detoxified Minette’s skin. She also got a back massage after that treat.
Meanwhile, I was able to try the Premium Signature Treatment. It was a 3-in-1 hand spa treatment that helped lighten, rejuvenate, and nourish my tired hands. It was paired with the Premium Signature Dead Sea Salt Therapy, a foot spa treatment that also lightened, rejuvenated, and nourished my skin with vanilla, lavender, and mint.
To take relaxation to the next level, I also tried foot reflexology. I enjoyed it a lot because the masseuse was so careful and the amount of pressure was just right. I was able to attest that everyone at The Body Spa and Waxing Lounge had proper training and ample amount of experience. They were also friendly, making things even better.
I had my nails done, as well. I was impressed that the entire manicure and pedicure session did not hurt at all. Both were done flawlessly and carefully. Also, I loved the fact that there were a lot of nail polish colors to choose from. They also used high-quality polishes, so I was confident that my nails would be safe. I was also assured that they would not wear off easily, especially the gel polish used for my fingernails.
In the end, Minette and I were both really happy about our spa experience. It was indeed a perfect treat for both of us, given that we both had a tough week at work.
