Re: Hiring FDW process
I think it is supposed to be shared among both country agencies.
We employ FDW directly without agency so that the FDW need not have any pay cut.
The procedure is actually very straight forward and easy. But you need to ensure they can leave the country.
For Myanmar FDW, they will buy their own tickets cos there is a risk that they are not allowed to leave to country.

SC application - Who should be the main applicant/sponsor
Hello All,
I'd like your advice on who should be the main applicant for SC in our family application. Here is our situation:
- We have been SPR for a bit more than 2 years; I was the sponsor of SPR application/EP holder at that time while my husband and my daughter were on DPs.
- I am Chinese and my husband is European (Caucasian); we both are 40+yrs.
- My annual gross salary is SGD 140K while my husband's is SGD415k; Although he is not employed in SG nor providing any business services here, he is considered a SG tax resident due to his physical presence in the country thus he has been paying income tax here in SG.
When I logged into my ICA account to submit SC application for our family, a reminder box appeared asking if I would like to nominate an alternative sponsor, suggesting that my husband could be the sponsor /main applicant instead.
Should I proceed with this option, given that my husband has a higher income and contributes more in taxes than I do? Would this increase .....

Hiring FDW process
Hello,
Is anyone familiar with the hiring process for foreign domestic workers (FDWs)? I understand that employment agencies (EAs) impose service charges if an employer seeks an FDW through their channel. Surprisingly, the FDW also has to pay a significant amount to their local agency in Myanmar to secure the job. This agent fee can be up to six months of their salary if they cannot make an upfront payment, meaning they have to work for six months without pay. I'm curious whether the amount paid by the employee benefits only the local agent in Myanmar or is shared between both agencies. I am conducting research on the hiring process and do not intend to hire any FDW. Thanks to anyone who can provide insights. :)

Hello,
Is anyone familiar with the hiring process for foreign domestic workers (FDWs)? I understand that employment agencies (EAs) impose service charges if an employer seeks an FDW through their channel. Surprisingly, the FDW also has to pay a significant amount to their local agency in Myanmar to secure the job. This agent fee can be up to six months of their salary if they cannot make an upfront payment, meaning they have to work for six months without pay. I'm curious whether the amount paid by the employee benefits only the local agent in Myanmar or is shared between both agencies. I am conducting research on the hiring process and do not intend to hire any FDW. Thanks to anyone who can provide insights. :)
