Sorry all, I know it’s been a while since I’ve done a roundup of the new drugstore makeup and beauty launches of the month! To be honest, nothing was really catching my eye aside from what I had been reviewing here on the blog. But July has brought us some exciting newness that I definitely think is worth sharing.
Keep reading to check out all the new drugstore makeup that’s popping up in July. Let me know if you want a closer look at anything in a review, and I’ll try my best to get it done!
L’Oreal
The brand announced their collaboration with trending singer Camila Cabello for their Havana collection. The products in the line definitely have a resort feel to them in terms of both the packaging and shades, but it’s all about effortless and natural beauty.
The Havana Eyeshadows have a creamy texture (I’m guessing something similar to the Infallible eyeshadows). They’re available in 4 shades: (from left to right) In Love– shimmery light pink, Hot Havana– shimmery green, Control– matte brown, and Oh-Na-Na– shimmery bronze. These look like great all-over-lid shades for a quick sultry eye look.
Dropping at the end of the month are the Havana Sun-Lit Bronzers, which will be available in Light/Medium and Medium/Deep. They’re liquid bronzers that are hydrating, lightweight and blendable. They claim you’ll be able to use these to contour for a suntanned look, though I’m not sure about face contouring because I have a feeling these will be glowy (not the best finish for creating shadows).
The last notable product that I’m interested in from this collection is the Havana Lip Dew. They add a subtle pop of color with a glossy, glowy finish to be worn alone or over lipstick. The shades available include: (left to right) Serendipity– peach, Desnudo– nude, Lit Up– shimmery bronze, and Camila– pink.
Honest Beauty
Honest Beauty is really amping up their beauty offerings with new products and a new look! They’re actually releasing a slew of color cosmetics and new skin care this season, but here’s what caught my eye the most. While Honest Beauty is available at Target, I’d actually recommend buying these products straight from the brand’s website to save money! I discovered that Target was marking up products anywhere between $2-$8… no thanks!
I absolutely love cream blush for a natural look, and it tends to last longer on me than powder blush as well. The new Honest Beauty Creme Cheek Blush is a blendable and sheer cream blush that’s lightweight and infused with multi-fruit extract. It’s available in five shades: Coral Peach, Plum, Berry, Peony Pink and Rose Pink.
The Honest Beauty Magic Beauty Balm is a multi-purpose moisturizer made with the best ingredients to soothe and soften the skin. You can use it on your lips, cuticles, and anywhere else you need a boost of hydration. It’s made with chamomile, calendula, sunflower seed oil, coconut oil and jojoba seed oils as well as shea butter for the ultimate moisture bomb.
I totally have my eye on the new Honest Beauty Invisible Blurring Loose Powder, specificially because of the fabric sifter. I have had high-end powders with this type of packaging and I find it to be so much more mess-free and really convenient for letting you pick up smaller amounts of product. This powder is supposed to be super silky and help mattify and set makeup. It’s made without talc so it’s not supposed to look cakey. I’m very excited for this one!
Finally, Honest released their new Honest Beauty Get It Together Eyeshadow Palette, with 10 versatile shades both in matte and shimmer finishes. I like the warm rosy vibe it has with the pop of gold, and seems to give a lot of day-to-night options. I also really appreciate the larger pans being shades that you might use most often: a setting/matte highlighting shade and a black for lining.
Catrice
Catrice kinda goes on and off my radar, but they have a few new products that makes me want to explore a little bit! They’re taking a heavy lean into the glowy trend, plus a new palette I’m stoked about.
The new Catrice Dewy Wetlook Stick is a transparent gloss stick you can apply on bare skin or over makeup. It adds a dewy effect that will look like a natural glow when it catches the light.
Then, we have the Catrice Dewy Eye Gloss Pen, which will be available later this season in the US yet but is already available in Europe. It’s basically the same thing as the Wetlook stick but for the eye. I don’t personally like the glossy eye trend, it just hasn’t grown on me, but it’s definitely hot right now.
I love me some liquid highlighter, so I really want to try the new Catrice Galactic Highlighter Drops. The drop applicator lets you mix it in with products like foundation or moisturizer, or apply it to a sponge for adding to the face.
I’m really interested in trying the new Catrice HD Liquid Coverage Precision Concealer because of the fine tip applicator. I think this would work really well for stuff like graphic liner or cut creases where you would typically apply concealer with a small brush.
There are also two new versions of their fixing sprays: Prime and Fine Anti-Shine Fixing Spray and Prime and Fine Dewy Glow Fixing Spray depending on the look you’re going for. I’m more of a matte girl during summer but appreciate a soft sheen during the colder months, so I can see a purpose for both of these throughout the year!
What I’m really interested in is the Lip Artist PRO Palette, though I might not see it in the US for a while. It’s a lip palette with various shades that you can mix together to create your own custom lip color! This gives you a chance to really play artist and get creative with your looks.
Being
Being is a new-ish bath and body brand that I’ve been enjoying, and I’m really excited for their latest Chilli Mango & Tonka Bean collection, which is sweet and spicy at the same time!
First off, I need to get my hands on the Being Chilli Mango & Tonka Bean Bubble Bath! Yes, even in the summer I love taking baths and I have a feeling this cream formula would make my soak even more luxurious.
The Being Chilli Mango & Tonka Bean Body Scrub is made with both sugar and salt grains for a gentle but effective exfoliation. I seriously need to re-incorporate body scrubs into my routine now that I live in a dry climate– plus it’s supposed to be helpful while getting laser hair removal done. Totally going to try this one!
Finally, they have a matching Chilli Mango & Tonka Bean Body Butter if you want to indulge in the scent even more. It’s made with rich shea and cocoa butters along with mango seed oil for major hydration and a yummy fragrance!
Hard Candy
A new lippy must have? We’ll see… Hard Candy just released their new Cashmere Silk Demi-Matte Creme Lip Colors that have a silky smooth formula and a sheer, natural finish??? So are they liquid lipsticks or glosses? I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a sheer finish with a liquid lipstick so I’m intrigued. The shade range is pretty neutral: (left to right) Buttercream, Macaron, Sorbet, Creme Brulee, Biscotti, Gelato and Tartufo.
