Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Williams.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I am a Scottsdale native and graduate of Arizona State University with both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Nursing and Bachelor’s in Business. Although I have lived most of my life in Scottsdale, I have been fortunate enough to have lived or spent considerable time in San Francisco, Tampa, Florida area, Colorado and Cape Cod, Massachusetts so I was able to enjoy and experience other parts of the nation. Initially, I started out working as a Clinical Case manager at a large hospital as well as owned a business providing expert witnesses to attorneys. Just before I graduated, I was recruited out of college, trained by a Doctor and then opened up the first laser center here in Arizona located in a mall setting. Following this, I opened up my own business and for over the last 14 years I have been performing cosmetic dermatology procedures in a medspa setting. Some call me one of the original pioneers of the medspa concept.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
With the Recession of 2008, there was a decrease in business. People could not afford to do quite as much as the Botox or filler or procedures that they desired. So, we would compromise and choose the most effective treatment based on an appropriate budget. People would buy less clothes and we started the campaign “save your face”. Basically, it is prevention of wrinkles via antiaging treatments. You save money by not buying so many clothes and instead invest long term in their face. Your face is going to be around for a long time, much more than the clothing you buy.
Please tell us about Ultra Smooth Skin.
We provide laser treatments for hair removal and reversal of skin damage and signs of
aging; treatment for unsightly varicose and spider veins and brown spots of the face and legs, Latisse® to encourage lash growth and CoolSculpting for body contouring; and facial rejuvenation from trusted brands such as SkinMedica®. We provide premium injectables such as Botox®, Dysport®, Vollure® Vollbella, Restylane Defyne and Refyne®, Sculptra, and Juvéderm; and Kybella treatment. “I can build volume, lift saggy skin, improve laxity, smooth out wrinkles and make people look younger and improve their appearance all while making them look natural and like they had nothing done”. I have been treating a lot of my clients for over fourteen years and they look as young as they did the first day I met them.
I also have a team of highly qualified health care professionals and certified laser technicians/aestheticians that also deliver optimal results in a safe, clean environment. Ultra Smooth Skin has been awarded the coveted “Black Diamond” certification from Allergan, the makers of Botox® – a prestigious designation that fewer than 1% of medical aesthetic practices receive.
We are authorized to conduct laser training and certification of aestheticians, registered nurses and nurse practitioners so although we have years of experience in training others, we never cease to keep learning. The advancing field of aesthetic medicine makes continuing education mandatory. We make it a priority to provide clients with the utmost quality, comfort, and care.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I had to ever start over I would not have done anything differently because I am who I am because of my experiences.
