Do you enjoy wearing jewelry?
When I was younger (teen, early 20’s) I wouldn’t step foot outside of my home without wearing earrings in all six holes in my ears (three in each), as well as a necklace, bracelets and rings. I had jewelry for every occasion and pieces to match everything in my wardrobe.
Fast forward to when I became a mom. I realized that jewelry wasn’t practical with babies and toddlers. I’ve had so many necklaces broken and earrings pulled out of my ear by my kids.
These days I still wear jewelry, but I’m more selective with what I wear. I tend to wear pieces that have meaning to them. Take for example the necklace that I wear 24/7. It features a heart with the letter “J” engraved on it, an angel wing and the birthstone for the month of March (Aquamarine). The letter “J” is for my brother John who died in a tragic car accident last year. Inside the heart are some of his ashes. John was born in March.
I have another necklace with his ashes in it. It has “Brother” engraved on the outside.
In addition to the necklace I always wear my wedding ring (of course), even though it’s not the original ( long story, my husband is wearing my original wedding ring after his was accidentally ruined). I also wear a few bracelets with things engraved on them (and charms) that all have special meaning to me.
Recently I received to review a beautiful necklace from a company called Waxing Poetic.
Waxing Poetic has been adorning women with our meaningful, versatile jewelry for almost 2 decades. Their line offers unique ways to mix and match looks with a wide range of charms, pendants, chains, bracelets and more. Their collections, designed by creative director Patti Pagliei and handcrafted in Bali, focus on our connection to the natural, mystical and spiritual worlds, and how adornment can really express one’s true self.
I was sent to review two charms and a necklace to wear them with.
The necklace and charms were packaged very nicely in an adorable little box. The box has a little drawer that pulls out to reveal the jewelry, complete with an itty bitty knob.
The necklace is really nice. It’s called a Miraculous Chain. I’m not sure exactly what that means. The necklace does have little brass balls about every two inches around the chain. It really adds to the beauty of this necklace. It could have worked with a simple chain too, but I really like the uniqueness of the chain the set comes with. It has a brass/silver look to it.
Here are a few photos. They DO NOT do this lovely necklace justice. It looks a million times better in person.
I am including photos (below) taken from the Waxing Poetic website that were done professionally so that you can get a better look at each piece.
One of the charms I received to review is called Found Again Pendant – Heart & Arrow.
I chose this pendant to review for special reasons.
My brother and I were apart all our lives. It took me 28 years to find him. We have the same mother, but different fathers. He was also adopted out (I was raised by my biological father and paternal grandparents). My brother and I had a year and a half together before he was killed.
I look at the arrows as they represent us. We were apart, we finally got together, then we were apart again.
I also like this pendant because it also reflects me and my husband. There were several times growing up where our paths could have crossed. We truly believe that fate kept trying to get us together, even as children. I see the arrows as us as well. Our paths could have crossed many times.
The other pendant I received is called Ever Tied Heart Charm. This is a two sided charm. One side features two hearts and some rope. The other side features text.
This is another charm I can easily apply to my brother as well as my husband. My brother and I will always have a special bond that can never be broken, and we are forever bound together by not only blood, but also life circumstances. As for my husband, he’s my true love forever. He’s my one and only and there can never be another. We’ve been together 23 years and we’re still going strong.
These charms are available individually, as well as on a necklace featured both charms (Found Again, Ever Tied Heart Necklace).
As you can see, Waxing Poetic offers unique pieces of jewelry that has meaning to it’s wearer. Here are a few more examples.
