Waxing is a staple for every spa, salon or resort. The faster you are the happier your clients will be and the greater your earning potential will be. The Advanced Waxing course at NIMA is all about waxing with speed and comfort. You will learn the techniques that allow you to keep a client comfortable while completing a brazilian in under 15 minutes. Students will work with both male and female models while they practice to refine their waxing skills. The waxing course comes with a kit valued at $150 that includes everything you’ll need to start providing services. This course is ideal for students that have already learned the basics of waxing and are licensed to perform this service within their state. Common licenses include ME, RN, PA, APRN, MD, DO. NIMA recommends that you check with your state to determine the licenses necessary within your area of practice.

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTORS
KATRINA LONG LAEINSTRUCTOR
Katrina has been in the aesthetics industry as a licensed esthetician for over 17 years! She is licensed in California, Oregon, Texas and Nevada. She has a passion for teaching and has maintained an esthetic instructor role for the past 11 years. Along with instructing NIMA's continuing education programs, she also teaches their Orientation Core to the esthetic students obtaining their license. This includes anatomy, chemistry, facials, lash lift/tints, microdermabrasion, dermasound and waxing. She also has a BA in communications. She worked in television as a makeup artist prior to obtaining her esthetics license. Katrina has worked in a medspa, day spa and has owned her own spa, so she has seen all facets of the industry!

While attending school I quickly realized that waxing was my passion. I became the “Wax Queen” between my fellow peers. I started my esthetic career renting a booth while improving my skills and gaining clientele. It was hard and so rewarding. I later moved on to Peak Day Spa as their one and only Waxologist. We were so honored and proud to win gold silver and bronze in facial, massage and waxing for all of Salt Lake in 2021. Teaching has been on my “to do list” since graduation and I’m so excited to now be able to share my waxing experience and tips while instructing for the advanced waxing course at NIMA.

“The PFR Facial course was really beneficial to me. Being trained previously here at NIMA for microneedling made the procedure and transition into PRP facials that much easier. I personally really enjoy using the PRP as the only serum on the face because it helps glide the Micropen so we give our patients good overlap and cover all the areas. The instructors gave a really thorough theory and demonstration. They showed us a lot of different techniques we could use which gave us aestheticians more confidence in using the Micropen and different ways we could make it our own. This made us feel more comfortable, which gives the clients a better feeling coming in and getting this procedure. I would recommend this course to all students here at NIMA.
