Hair removal just got a lot easier, with a device that uses 'Intense Pulsed Light' to destroy hair at the root and break the cycle of regrowth. The handheld Philips gadget claims to give users 12 months of hair-free skin in as little as three treatments.
Now, as part of Amazon's Prime Day sale - which ends at midnight tonight (July 12) - the Philips Lumea IPL Hair Removal 8000 Series has a third off, down from £499.99 to £299.99. It comes with four attachments for body, face, bikini, and underarms and customers have access to the Lumena App to track their treatment schedule.
The first four treatments have to take place every two weeks with a touch up every month. After eight touch ups, you should be hair-free for a whole year and, Philips claims you can get up to 92 per cent hair reduction.

Shoppers are loving the IPL hair removal device and leaving rave reviews. One person wrote: "I wish I had gotten this sooner!" adding: "Already I am feeling more confident and feel this has equipped me with the tool to keep my stubborn unwanted hair under control."

Another fan simply said: "Life changing. Worth every single penny!!" A third Amazon customer wrote: "This machine is the best thing I have ever come across! I honestly didn't believe the hype and thought the price was far too much. Not anymore!"
However, some have found the treatment more painful than they expected. One shopper said: "So far it's doing what it said it would, but its slightly more painful than expected though still nothing like waxing/epilating and there are a few areas it doesn't work on due to small size (e.g fingers)."
What's more, after just two treatments, the device works out cheaper than IPL removal in London. At the London Dermatology Centre, they recommend a series of four to six treatments to see "a significant result."
For your full legs to be treated, it costs £250 per treatment with a discount for three bought in bulk. Three treatments cost £675 so the recommended minimum of four treatments would cost £925 - much more expensive than the £299.99 Philips IPL device.
Elsewhere, at the Pulse Light Clinic there is a summer offer for two areas (any Bikini Brazilian/Hollywood and a choice of one of the following: Underarm, Perianal or Navel): six sessions cost £311 with the discount.
Other retailers sell the Philips IPL Hair Removal Device. John Lewis has it on sale for £120 cheaper than it is usually sold for at £329.99. It is also currently sold at Boots for the same price.
