Hey everyone!
Thank you for visiting my page, it really means a lot. I am a 24-year-old transgender woman from the United Kingdom. My pronouns are she/her.
I wanted to start off this page by saying just how thankful I am to everyone who has donated to my medical treatments, and for those who have not been able to donate but have helped me share my message I am just as thankful to you too! This page is to help with my transition, when it comes to Gender Reassignment Surgery, Facial Feminization Surgery, electrolysis, and laser hair removal, towards the end of this page I will include links to explain what each procedure does.
It’s important for me to be transparent and honest when creating this page too, I currently have a full time job (The pay isn’t enough to save for normal things like car insurance and to help rent out a place, so its never going to be enough for me to save up for life saving treatment at the same time. I am currently on the hunt for a new job with better pay but due to COVID-19 it has made it 10x harder, plus I need the extra help to complete my goal. When I first created this page I didn’t have any donation goal in mind so I set it as £10,000 but after talking to different trans people I have come to discover that my surgery expenses will cost a lot more than that, therefore I have bumped my donation goal up to £35,000. In NO WAY do I expect this overnight and I will not get upset with any amount of donation I get small or big, anything donated to me is a blessing.
I started my transition in 2017 when I came out to my mother and sister, and then a few weeks after that came out at work, this was probably the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my life, growing up in a Christian household I was terrified that I wouldn’t be accepted. My mother and sister ended up being incredibly supportive and with the support from them I gained the confidence to tell the rest of my family, and with the support of work and friends, I plucked up the courage to medically transition through my GP and the Gender Identity Clinic in London. This has been a tough process, I only started hormones in 2019 because my GP was so reluctant to help, and growing up in an old-fashioned town a lot of the GPs I've encountered aren't as well versed on trans issues and my experience so they have not believed me/seen the urgency of my transition. A few years ago, my mother and stepdad moved to France, and as my father doesn't support me, I had to make ends meet on my own, this lead me to severe depression due to my father being completely unsupportive, to the point where he refused to talk about it and the only time he’d bring up LGBT culture was when he’d joke that gay people should be shot. This means I gained independence on my own, which I wanted. However, as stated above It will simply be impossible for me to save up for these procedures on my own AND try to function as a normal adult outside of being transgender.

From researching myself across and speaking to transgender people who have gotten FFS themselves I have worked out that facial surgery will come to a total of around £34,000. First coming to terms with this really made me feel weak at the knees, this surgery is much more than just a cosmetic procedure, it is life-changing, and knowing that it is such an expensive thing for individuals to do is heart-breaking. . Gender Reassignment Surgery: I am still undecided on a place to visit for this procedure, but I know that it is extremely expensive to get done privately. I am offered this on the NHS, however due to a wait time of 6 years I am not able to get this done for a while, and this seriously affects my mental health and gender dysphoria. Plus, due to the nature of the procedure done on the NHS it does not offer alternative surgery techniques, and due to a medical condition I was born with I will not get lasting depth and stretch on the NHS.

Starting my transition has probably been one of the most freeing things for me as an individual, spending my childhood crying and not knowing why, praying to God when I was falling asleep that I'd wake up as a girl... Coming to terms with my identity and finding a family of people in the same boat as me has boosted my confidence to new heights.
