Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Morlan.
Jennifer, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I grew up in a small town in a very southern state that was very beautiful, but not a lot to do recreationally. I have always loved makeup and artistry through cosmetics. I also knew I was going to need an education in something different than just cosmetics to raise my family on 20 years ago. That led me to get my education in Business Management and I used it in the cosmetic industry. I love to help people and grow them into the career they enjoy which of course was in the beauty industry of some sort. I started out as a makeup artist. I worked as a model scout for a couple of years until I started Managing makeup artist in retail settings which as now led me into the Med Spa world. I now am a Business Development Specialist at Empower Health & Aesthetic Institute in Dallas Texas where we teach 17 Advanced Aesthetic courses, Laser Hair Removal, and Botox and Fillers.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
For me, it has been a fairly smooth road only because I see failure as redirection and /or learning opportunities. I am and have been a single mom for many years so there has been some struggle in that. However, it has also made me stronger, made me push harder for success. Not succeeding just is not an option. I think, as with most things in life, our attitude impacts the outcome our life will have just by the way we think. “Change your thoughts, Change your world”

Empower Health and Aesthetic Institute is a school focused on teaching courses in the areas of skincare aesthetic treatments. Students can earn certifications in Laser Hair Removal, Cosmetic Injectables, and Skin Care Aesthetics such as chemical peels, microneedling, IPL photofacial, hydracial, and body contouring just to name a few. You will find a complete list and specific information on all our courses throughout our site. We will provide students the opportunity to gain the knowledge and skills to compete in the profitable and rewarding medical aesthetics profession. We employ faculty and staff who have demonstrated proficiency in all areas of the medical aesthetics. Our instructors and staff are well versed and their vast knowledge and understanding for what it takes in this industry to be successful provider within the aesthetics arena. We have 6 things that sets us apart. * You get an incredible amount of hands-on experience. *We have fully accredited programs. * We are locally owned and locally focused. * You will be part of our Empower family for life. Meaning you are always welcome to use our facility at no cost to you to practice on your family, friends, and models. We want you set up for success, even after the class is over. * We are affordable. Our focus is on the students and bridging the gap between school and the workforce. We are creating a network of Doctors, Med Spas, Plastic Surgeons, Dermatologist along with Cosmetology schools in the DFW area.
We offer 17 classes at Empower H.A.I. Botox and Fillers, Laser Hair Removal, and Advanced Aesthetics. ( Hydrafacials, Chemical Peels to name a few examples)
Are there any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
I love Podcast! Especially when I drive. These are a few of my favorite podcasts: From Scratch is great! It is about growing businesses. Of course, any content from Gary Vee is my all-time favorite. Another one is Start-Up. Marketing over Coffee has great content and the strategy Hour Podcast to name a few Podcasts. Some good business relationship-building books are:” Give and Take” – it shows by the authors own research how success is increasingly dependent on how we interact with other people. “Captive” shares insightful keys on establishing rapport, building charisma, and decoding behavior patterns in order to help our interactions with people.
Just to name a few! I love to read self-help books when I can lay out by the pool and listen to podcasts especially when I am driving! I believe we are all responsible for our own development. If I am not working on myself in some way or another, I feel despondent and bored. I want to be better tomorrow than I am today- every day. Personally and Professionally.
