One stop shop for skin treatments and hair removal solutions

Northborough – Luxe Electrology & Aesthetic Studio is tucked away at the Northborough Medical Center located at 112 Main Street, Suite 101. Owner and state registered electrologist Lauren David switched career paths and followed her passion to help clients look and feel their best. Hair removal solutions, medical grade skin treatments and luxurious facials are offered.
The momentum of the business is strong since reopening after being closed four months due to the pandemic in 2020.
David won the Worcester Telegram and Gazette Best of Central Massachusetts 2020 Best Spa award.
“It’s always been a goal to have a medical spa – a one stop shop,” she said. “As busy and competitive as this industry is, our clients are loyal.”
Electrolysis vs Laser
Two of the services provided are laser hair treatments and electrolysis. David said the choice is individual. The difference between the two is electrolysis is permanent hair removal; laser is permanent hair reduction. While lighter skin and darker hair present the best candidate for laser, electrolysis works on anyone. Laser can cover larger areas; electrolysis works well in smaller areas such as the face.
Electrolysis is also the only FDA approved hair removal procedure. It is a gentle treatment and can be done multiple times per week. It is recommended that laser treatments be spaced apart 4-6 weeks.
“Both work, but work for different reasons and different people,” David said.
Sun exposure should be avoided for the first 24-48 hours after treatment as there may be some irritation afterwards.
The length of appointments is determined on the size of the area to focus on. Clients should notice a difference within a few treatments.

Waxing, facials, microneedling, dermaplaning, peels, and eye lash lifts and tints are also offered.
“Skin treatments are going to reveal a better you,” said David. “You will feel better – more relaxed, more refreshed.”
Winter is a great time for some of the treatments when skin is not exposed to a lot of sun.
“It’s a great time to refresh the skin and reveal fresh glowing skin underneath,” she said.
Facial treatments, such as the DermaSweep and Skin Classic, are targeted to improving the skin’s texture, hydration and overall appearance.
“If it’s something you want to do for yourself, just do it,” said David. “I hear people often say ‘I don’t know why I waited so long.’”

Creating a comfortable, professional, and welcoming environment is key.
David said male clients are welcomed and the business is LGBTQ friendly. Clients in the midst of a gender transition needing hair removal services are supported.
“We pride ourselves on being extremely inclusive,” she said.
