Lucy Hart (formerly Lance Hart) has always forged her own path, with impressive crossover success in an industry that has sometimes resisted change. In this new interview, she discusses everything from her most challenging roles to her daily routine to her beloved pets.
What has been your most challenging porn movie shoot?
It’s hard to pick one, but in general the submissive roles I played in femdom and gay scenes for Kink.com were the most challenging. I enjoyed them. I was lucky to work with safe people.
Which porn performance are you most proud of?
Also, hard to pick one. Probably the stuff I did for my own gay site ManUpFilms.com. I had to direct, take care of the location, set up the shoot, clean up the shoot, pay the models, answer all the questions on set . . . All while bottoming and sometimes doing heavy submissive torture porn stuff. There’s really nothing like a day like that.

You’re known as an activist as well as a pornstar. Which industry-related issues are you currently most passionate about?
I want to do anything I can to end bank discrimination against sex workers. I’m working on that with some really good people, and I think we might actually pull it off. I’m also active on the Board of Directors of PASS and we are working hard to fix the issues with our current testing stuff.
We saw the recent tweet of you doing squats! Tell us about your fitness routines.
I used to really have it all down when it comes to fitness, but now that I am transitioning to female, I need to learn all new stuff. I’ve lost 20lbs in the past 3 weeks by doing a ton of cardio and pretty much living off vegetables. I have a ways to go though to change my body.
Last year, you told mentioned to AVN that you’ve “always thought the bisexual market was very underserved.” Why do you think that’s the case? Do you see things slowly but surely improving?
I think we are making progress here. I turned over my BiFuck.com site to Wolf Hudson because he really gets it. I think if anyone can make a dent in this issue, it’s him.

What advice would you give someone looking to join the industry?
There’s a ton of stuff. Stick to a budget as to avoid getting desperate and taking shoots you don’t really want to do. That’s important. Also, it’s really important I think to put effort into your sexiness. Work out, eat well, moisturize…. it makes a huge difference.
Tell us about your cats!
Charlotte [Sartre] and I have four cats. Battlecat is the fluffy one. Jonesy and Babycat are short hair tabbies. Jonesy has huge feet and loves potato chips. Babycat has tiny feet and only hangs out with Charlotte and me. Ripley is the black cat. He lives to chew on trash.
What does a typical day look like for you?
Lately I wake up around 8 am, drink espresso, read some spiritual stuff and mediate. Then I spend an hour or so reading about stock market stuff and tinkering with my stocks. Then Charlotte normally wakes up and we eat breakfast. We hang out in our pajamas until afternoon and then eat lunch. I keep up with emails and my payroll stuff through out the day. I like to hit the gym or do jujitsu everyday, but sometimes I don’t make it. The rest of the day I work on my transitioning stuff like booking surgery consults, doing electrolysis and laser hair removal…. That’s pretty much it. After working my butt off building Pervout.com for over a decade, it kinda runs itself. I wouldn’t say I’m fully retired, but most days it looks like I am.
Are there any performers you haven’t worked with yet but would love the chance to?
I’m currently on a break from performing as I transition to female. I have realistic expectations about doing this at age 42. If I do pull off looking like a hot MILF, there’s a ton of shoots I’d like to do, but we’ll see.
Do you have a preference if you’d rather focus on directing a movie or focus on performing in a movie?
Out of the two I’d rather direct, but I really really like just paying people to do it all and staying home with my wife and cats.
