Insurance is important, but for celebrities insuring their body parts is crucial, considering they can make or break their careers. Many have term, life and other types of insurance on their legs, butts and even their breasts. Some even have insurance on odd body parts such as their tongue. Can you imagine the type of insurance premium on those types of items? You’ll find out when you read below.

1. Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez, the famous pop singer, and actress, actually took out a nice big term insurance policy on her famous booty. How much? $300 million dollars! What could possibly go wrong? It is quite possible this premium covers excess cellulite, scratches, and any other medical and physical blemishes on her buttocks that could occur during the course of her career. And since she has dance moves, if she were to tear her gluteal muscles during a dance performance, she would be covered under this policy.

2. Mariah Carey

Liverpool Echo

Although you would think pop singer Mariah Carey would secure her voice with life insurance, she actually targeted her legs. In 2006, Carey insured her legs for a whopping $1 billion dollars! Can you imagine what her monthly payments are? This is the highest policy by any celebrity known to mankind. Even though she is basically retired, what would she still need it for? It is possible it’s for self-security and pride. I assume if she were to get in a car accident or any other type of accident, her insurance company will pay out the full premium if there were any scratches or bruises on her legs. It is unknown whether a serious knee injury such as an ACL tear would be covered. Like J Lo’s policy, excess cellulite may also be covered under this policy.

3. Holly Madison

As Hugh Hefner’s former girlfriend and popular reality television superstar, it is easy to see why he picked her. Her breasts were actually insured with a $1 million insurance premium. This was around the time she joined and created her Las Vegas show called Peepshow. This type of body part insurance policy could cover a wide range of items, such as the silicone implants, plastic surgery mishaps, and any other medical and physical abnormalities that may occur during her successful career.

4. Dolly Parton

In the 1970’s, Parton took out insurance on her breasts for $600,000, which was an extremely high premium back in the day. Today, you’d think she would be taking out life insurance, but this isn’t the case. Instead, she recently took another insurance policy on her chest for $3.8 Million. This is a very interesting policy considering how old she is, and she really isn’t active both musically and on the big screen. Anyway, if one of her balloons were to deflate due to some medical condition or disease, Dolly would get a huge payout.

5. Miley Cyrus

It might not be a surprise that pop star Miley Cyrus insured her tongue for $1 million since all she does is stick it out all day. I mean, someone might just have scissors in hand and cut her tongue off. So maybe, in perspective, it really is worth that much. “Miley’s totally aware of how her tongue is getting more headlines than she is, and getting it insured is just part of her trademarked image,” said an unnamed source. It is unknown what the deductible would be on this kind of policy, but if she were to burn her tongue after drinking a hot cup of coffee, would it be covered by this premium?

6. Taylor Swift

Pop Singer Taylor Swiftpermanent skin damage

7. Rihanna

The 19-year-old Barbados born pop singer was named 2007 Venus Breeze’s “Celebrity Legs Of A Goddess” by Gillette Razors at NYC’s Metropolitan Pavilion. Gillette helped insured Rihanna’s legs with a $1 million dollar insurance policy! When you look at them, you can certainly see why. As a performer, many things can go wrong on stage. A simple fall or misstep can lead to a torn ACL, MCL, or Achilles tendon which would be covered by her large insurance policy, minus the deductible. I wonder what her monthly payments are!

8. Jennifer Love Hewitt

Actress Jennifer Love Hewitt

9. Heidi Klum

Here we have miss Heidi Klum, one of the biggest Victoria’s Secret supermodels of our time, with a massive insurance policy on her legs. Supposedly the legs are worth over $2 million! Can you imagine the monthly payments and deductible on that amount? Many things would be covered here, including runway accidents. We all know high heels are hard to walk in. If she were to need a medical visit and surgery due to falling on the catwalk and tearing a ligament in her knees or ankles, this premium would cover it. I would assume issues arising from laser hair removal and any other cosmetic surgeries would be covered as well.

10. Madonna

This material girl pop star singer felt the need to pay an expensive insurance premium for her breasts worth $2 million. Maybe those cone bras that she wears during her concerts are more dangerous than they look. Although she is not known for the size of her balloons, they are one of her best assets. Size isn’t everything. It is unknown whether she had plastic surgery done to enhance the size of her breasts. If so, complications during surgery will definitely be covered with her insurance policy.

11. Kylie Minogue

This Australian pop singer took out a massive $5 million dollar policy on her buttocks. Talk about an insurance premium! Of course, that is one heck of an asset. This particular body part isn’t big like J. Lo’s, however, anything can go wrong. Perhaps as she ages her gluteal muscles may turn into body fat, which will ruin the overall appearance of her buttocks. Cellulite and other natural and unnatural physical and medical abnormalities that may appear during the course of her music career may result in a large insurance payout.

12. Daniel Craig

British actor Daniel Craig took out a £5 million ($9.5 million) insurance policy to protect against losses to his body. The actor, who was adamant about doing his own stunts in the 2006 James Bond movie, Casino Royale, took out the policy due to the risks involved in the stunt work. The actor continued to perform his own stunts for all the James Bond Movies. Being a stuntman has its risks, so it is safe to assume the deductible would be well over $1 million dollars. Stunts involving running on buildings, driving vehicles at fast speeds, and fighting with weapons could lead to all kinds of medical problems – broken bones, torn ligaments, skin abrasions and more. We hope this expensive policy will cover all that.

13. Tina Turner

This popular old pop singing icon decided to take term insurance on her legs for $3 million. As much as she sang and danced, there is certainly reasoning behind this move, as her legs were iconic pieces of her performances. As old as she is now, we wonder if aging, leg sores, and cellulite are covered by this policy. There must be a contract clause specifying what exactly will be covered, such as medical injuries that negatively affect the appearance of her legs.

14. David Lee Roth

David Lee Roth

15. Troy Polamalu

Former professional football player Troy Polamalu

16. America Ferrera

This television actress is known for her role in “Ugly Betty” signed up to become the face of Aquafresh. When she did, the toothpaste company took out some life insurance on her teeth, more specifically her smile. I suppose $10 million could cover it, which is the amount that it was insured for according to sources. If she were to get into a massive bar fight and someone punched her in the teeth, her insurance policy would definitely cover it. We wonder if dental surgeries and procedures would be covered as well, such as root canals, cavities, and other medical procedures.

17. Jamie Lee Curtis

This older actress beauty signed up to help the L’Eggs pantyhose company, with one of their advertising campaigns. They put down insurance on the actress’ legs, with a $2.8 million dollar insurance premium! Wow! Here is another case where the insurance company probably made a wonderful investment, considering she doesn’t do anything risky with her legs. The chances of a medical injury to her legs which would involve scarring is quite low.

18. Bette Davis

Fark

Actress Bette Davis

19. Julia Roberts

Blockbuster actress Julia Roberts who is known for her toothy grin insured her lips and smile for a cool $30 million dollars. Her smile is one of the most recognizable ones in Hollywood and one with this insurance, one of the most expensive ones too. Any medical condition or injury that would involve the appearance of her lips and smile such as lip cancer or even a chipped tooth would be covered. We assume any physical abnormalities stemming from failed dental surgeries such as a root canal would be covered in this insurance policy as well.

20. America Ferrara

America Ferrara’s teeth were insured for $10 million by Aquafresh White Trays when she teamed up with them to raise money for the charity Smiles for Success. She told the Telegraph, “It’s very flattering to have my smile insured for $10 million. It’s not something that I ever imagined happening.” So true. You never think it’ll happen to you.

On August 24, 1979, the Facts of Life made its debut on television screens and growing up never looked the same.

As the housemother of the private girls’ school Eastland, Mrs. Garrett (Charlotte Rae) watched over seven girls (among them, future teen queen Molly Ringwald) on the show’s first season. However, the cast was tweaked in its sophomore debut when only three of Mrs. Garrett’s original charges remained: rich, snooty Blair (Lisa Whelchel), smart, sensitive Natalie (Mindy Cohn) and dramatic Tootie (Kim Fields). They were then joined by a new addition to the cast, tough girl Jo (Nancy McKeon).

With these alterations, the Facts of Life took off until the show ended its run in 1988. Viewers watched the girls grow up, pursue careers, get boyfriends and even learn life lessons in special episodes that tackled topics like race, suicide and losing one’s virginity. (The cast also got to work with a young George Clooney, who played a handyman in two of the show’s later seasons.)

Child stars don’t have the best track record after a popular show ends its run, as the cast of Diff’rent Strokes demonstrated. But don’t worry—not one of these women have gone off the rails. Maybe because they took the good and took the bad just like their Facts of Life characters did!

Charlotte Rae (Edna Garrett)

NBC/EVERETT COLLECTION; DAVID LIVINGSTON/GETTY (People Magazine)

Rae played housemother Edna Garrett, the character who tied the spinoff to Diff’rent Strokes, until season 8, when Cloris Leachman was cast as her character’s sister. Mrs. G mentored the girls and worked as the school’s dietician. Now 91, Rae is still working in Hollywood: Her recent credits include Girl Meets World, Ricki and The Flash and Pretty Little Liars, and in 2015, she published her autobiography, The Facts of My Life.

Mindy Cohn (Natalie Green)

worldemand.com

As student Natalie Green, Cohn was an early role model for body positivity. Now 51, she’s an LGBT rights advocate and is known by a whole new generation for voicing Velma in the Scooby-Doo cartoons. Cohn stepped away from show business for health reasons: In October 2017, revealing exclusively to PEOPLE that she secretly battled breast cancer for five years. “I was frustrated and enraged. I couldn’t control any of this. I couldn’t fix it,” she said. Today, she’s ready to return to the spotlight, telling PEOPLE, “I think I’m a good actress, and I have a lot to offer. I’m excited to see what I get to do next!”

Kim Fields (Dorothy “Tootie” Ramsey)

Pinterest/Pinterest

Playing Dorothy “Tootie” Ramsey, Fields made braces cool — and got into plenty of trouble with her penchant for gossip. The 48-year-old actress appeared on Fox’s Living Single and gave reality TV a try during season 8 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. She also competed on Dancing with the Stars. But her best role is as a mom to sons Sebastian, 10, and Quincy, 4, with husband Christopher Morgan.

Lisa Whelchel (Blair Warner)

Today Show

Whelchel portrayed the preppy and snobby Blair Warner. She was nominated for a Grammy back in 1984 for her Christian music album. Now 54, she works as a motivational speaker. Whelchel came in second place on Survivor: Philippines in 2012 and has three children.

Nancy McKeon (Joanna Marie “Jo” Polniacze)

Today Show

A season 2 addition, Joanna Marie “Jo” Polniaczek made an unforgettable entrance aboard a motorcycle and immediately clashed with Blair — but she became an irreplaceable part of the group. Disney Channel fans will recognize McKeon, 51, as Demi Lovato’s character’s mom on Sonny with a Chance. She has two daughters of her own with husband Marc Andrus.

George Clooney (George Burnett)

GoodHousekeeping

This handsome fellow got his start on Riptide on 1984, but his role as the friendly (and hunky) neighbor handyman, George Burnett, helped kickstart his career in 1985. We all know what this ‘silver fox’ is up to today. Marriage and twins are keeping him very busy…No wonder his hair has turned gray!

Next Post: Coca-Cola Breaks 130-Year-Old Tradition With First Alcoholic Drink

With its iconic red label and secret recipe, it’s been one of the world’s most famous soft drinks for more than a century. Now, however, Coca-Cola is on the brink of a new chapter – with plans to launch its first alcoholic drink.

The company is currently experimenting with the creation of a popular type of Japanese alcopop known as Chu-Hi, containing distilled shochu alcohol mixed with flavored carbonated water.

The low alcohol canned drink will be launched in Japan, home to a thriving if competitive industry, with countless Chu-Hi flavored drinks – from kiwi to yuzu – sitting on convenience store shelves across the country.

Confirming the plan in an interview on the company’s website, Jorge Garduño, Coca-Cola’s Japan president, said: “This is a canned drink that includes alcohol; traditionally, it is made with a distilled beverage called shochu and sparkling water, plus some flavoring. We haven’t experimented with the low alcohol category before, but it’s an example of how we continue to explore opportunities outside our core areas.”

The Independent

Highlighting how “unique” this venture was for the company, Mr. Garduño, who did not specify a timeline for the new product, added: “Coca-Cola has always focused entirely on non-alcoholic beverages, and this is a modest experiment for a specific slice of our market.

“The Chu-Hi category is found almost exclusively in Japan. Globally, it’s not uncommon for non-alcoholic beverages to be sold in the same system as alcoholic beverages. It makes sense to give this a try in our market.”

Humor Nation

The concept of alcoholic Coca-Cola drinks, however, was likely to stay within Japan rather than expand globally, due to the “unique and special” qualities of the Japanese market, he added.

Coca-Cola’s inaugural foray into the world of alcoholic beverages takes place more than 130 years after the original drink was first launched in the US, minus any alcohol in order to circumvent restrictive prohibition laws.

It coincides with shrinking global demand for soft fizzy drinks, due to health concerns relating to sugar consumption, with sports drinks and water emerging as Coca-Cola’s strongest performing beverages.

Wall Street Journal

Meanwhile, Japan’s alcopop market has grown expansively since the country’s first ready-to-drink Chu-Hi product for stores – called hiLicky – was reportedly released in 1983, with young women fuelling sales.

It’s almost impossible to think of the song “My Girl” without immediately humming those first few notes of its iconic opening riff.

The song was released in 1964, becoming one of the biggest hits to come out of Berry Gordy’s Motown — “My Girl” became a best-selling single, and by 1965, rose to the top of the Billboard charts, became The Temptations’ first number-one song and marked the first time the label itself landed a number-one hit with one of their male vocal groups. Even today, more than 50 years after its release, “My Girl” still stands out, ranking among the best songs of all time.It is still a song that gets stuck in your head and heart by all generations alike.

A big part of the song’s success was its writer, Smokey Robinson who was one of Motown’s big songwriters/producers at the time; he was also the lead singer of his own vocal group, the Miracles. Although he could have used the song for his own group to sing, Smokey never intended to keep “My Girl” for himself — it was always meant for his so-called competitors.

Many believe that the infectious tune was written by Smokey Robinson, about women. Afterall, who wouldn’t with a title like “My Girl?” But in a 2015 interview, Robinson clarified that the tune, in fact, was written for its eventual performers, the Temptations.

Rolling Stone

As Smokey explains, “he was so enamored with the group’s vocals that he simply had to write a song for them.” Robinson explained that any writer or producer could go up to an artist with a song. This bred competition, and so artists would get to pick the songs they believed were going to be chart-toppers. Motown competition may have been fierce, but it was incredibly common for everyone to work together in a collaborative effort to strike gold with a big hit, in turn, producing more successful singles, one of which included “My Girl.”

“It would be nothing for us to go into the studio and help one of our competitors with a song that they were working on, with an artist that we were working on,” Smokey says. “We all did that, for each other.”

In fact, Motown’s policy was that no one had a lock on a particular artist; any writer or producer could choose to work with any willing artist. This is what happened with Smokey and The Temptations. He very deliberately wrote “My Girl” for them.

“Were it not for The Temptations, I never would have written ‘My Girl,’” Smokey says.

When The Temptations first signed with Motown, the label’s founder, Berry Gordy, instructed Smokey to “get some hits on them.” Eddie Kendricks and Paul Williams typically alternated as the group’s lead singers, but Smokey saw incredible potential in background singer David Ruffin.

Smokey Robinson with Esther Gordy Edwards at the Motown Records Office. (Pinterest)

“I wrote ‘My Girl’ for David Ruffin’s voice,” Smokey says. “The Temptations were so creative in making up the background vocals… All the stuff that they’re singing on ‘My Girl,’ they made that up themselves.”

The combination of those background vocals, Ruffin’s distinct voice, and Smokey’s writing abilities is what made the song such a hit. These three important factors all aligned at the right moment.

“No, I don’t wish I would have kept it for myself,” Smokey says of the song. “[The Temptations are] the ones who brought it out of me!”

This strong sense of community was always prevalent in Smokey’s career with Motown. Everyone there, he adds, felt like family.

“I always was so happy whenever I got a hit record on one of the artists,” Smokey says. “They were my brothers and sisters. If I could do something to enhance their career and make things better for them, that made me happy.”

People driving by a McDonald’s in Lynwood, California, might be baffled by an upside-down sign. The golden arches, typically standing as an M, have been flipped over to become a W. Surprisingly, this isn’t a bizarre prank or a careless mistake. The upside-down arches are in “celebration of women everywhere,” a McDonald’s representative told Business Insider in an email.

CNBC.com

Patricia Williams, the location’s franchisee, flipped her restaurant’s sign in honor of International Women’s Day on Thursday, March 8. McDonald’s says it will turn its logo upside down on all its digital channels, such as Twitter and Instagram, on Thursday, while 100 restaurants will have special “packaging, crew shirts and hats, and bag stuffers” to celebrate.

“In celebration of women everywhere, and for the first time in our brand history, we flipped our iconic arches for International Women’s Day in honor of the extraordinary accomplishments of women everywhere and especially in our restaurants,” McDonald’s global chief diversity officer, Wendy Lewis, said in a statement.

Lewis continued: “From restaurant crew and management to our C-suite of senior leadership, women play invaluable roles at all levels, and together with our independent franchise owners, we’re committed to their success.”

CBS Pittsburgh – CBS Local

Several brands, including Old Navy and Barbie, have debuted products to honor International Women’s Day. Meanwhile, some companies — such as BrewDog, which rolled out what it said was a satirical “beer for girls” called Pink IPA— have been criticized for using the day to advertise to women in what some consider a reductive manner.

Since we’re talking about McDonald’s & by now you may be getting in the mood for a Big Mac (I am!!) let’s help our MD fans save some bucks and find out some cool stuff…

This Is Why You Should Always Ask Your McDonald’s Cashier For A Receipt…

If you catch a craving for burger and fries, McDonald’s is always a short drive away. But to ensure you get a fresh meal every time, you might need to take one extra step. Kamran Adnan, who says he worked for the fast-food chain for one year, claims the staff gives extra perks to customers who ask for a receipt. Doing so will practically guarantee you’re served the freshest food, he wrote in a Quora post.

According to Adnan, McDonald’s employees are trained to watch out for “mystery shoppers” or “Gapbusters”—people who are paid to visit McDonald’s restaurants and rate their experience—at certain points in the day. These shoppers tend to dine between 12 to 2 p.m., and 5 to 7 p.m., he says.

Because their reviews factor into the store’s rating, “every store manager will do everything to ensure this rating is as positive as possible,” Adnan said… These undercover diners are typically reimbursed for their purchase, so they will ask for a receipt. This signals to employees that they might have a “Gapbuster” on their hands. Not only will they make sure to serve that customer first, but they will also give them the freshest food possible.

While McDonald’s has not confirmed Adnan’s claims yet, it can’t hurt to ask for a receipt next time. Nothing beats a tray full of steaming hot French fries, after all. Don’t miss even more mind-blowing facts about McDonald’s.

By now, celebrities and their look-alike children are nothing new. We know Reese Witherspoon and her kids could pass for triplets, Faith Hill’s daughter could probably replace her next to Tim on the red carpet, Tom Hank’s son is his spitting image and Kiefer Sutherland looks just like his actor father, Donald.

However, there’s one father-son duo that makes it hard not to do a double take. Iconic movie star, Jack Nicholson who has three daughters has one son, Ray, who many people think looks like Leonardo DiCaprio. And that is no doubt true. But if you ask us, Ray is actually a carbon copy of Jack as well. Looking at them together now, you may not see the resemblance right away. But when you look at Jack as a younger man, you are sure to see an uncanny resemblance.

Yahoo.com

But a look back at Jack’s early years in Hollywood reveal the striking similarities between the two.

From the widow’s peak hairline, the pointed eyebrows, elongated dimples, wide jaw, and signature grin — all Ray needed was a beard to look just like his dad for their Saturday night out.

Ray has also followed in Jack’s footsteps by working in Hollywood. Although he has only acted once in the 2006 film The Benchwarmers, he has worked as an Assistant Director on two recent films: Boots (2013) and A Reunion(2014).

From their mischievously sexy smiles…

Yahoo.com

Right down to the squint in their eyes…

Seriously, the side-by-side comparison of these two is almost freaky!

Woman’s Day

In addition to his 22-year-old son, Ray, movie icon Jack Nicholson also has three daughters. From both of their eyes right down to the way they smile, there is no mistaking whose son Ray is.

Here are Jack’s other kids (At least the ones we know of!):

The star’s first child, Jennifer, was the product of his six-year marriage to actress Sandra Knight. He then had Love Child No. 1, a son named Caleb born in 1970 after a fling with his “Five Easy Pieces” co-star Susan Anspach.

Nicholson was born in Los Angeles to actor Jack Nicholson and actress Rebecca Broussard. She was named after her father’s aunt. She has a younger brother, Raymond, as well as three older half-siblings through her father; two half-sisters, Jennifer Nicholson and Honey Hollman, and a half-brother, Caleb Goddard. She was four years old when her parents separated.

Who is Caleb James Goddard? Caleb James Goddard is the son of Susan Anspach and Jack Nicholson. Also known as Caleb Goddard; born September 26, 1970.

The boy was legally adopted by “Lost in Space” star Mark Goddard, an American actor who has starred in a number of television programs but is probably best known for portraying Major Don West, the adversary of Dr. Zachary Smith (played by Jonathan Harris), in the CBS series Lost in Space (1965-68). Jack Nicholson’s son Goddard married Anspach four years later.

Tessa Gourin

According to PageSix, Nicholson has also sired a daughter (Tessa Gourin) with a former Monkey Bar waitress, Jennine Gourin, and bought her silence with a settlement “rumored to be in the mid-six-figures,” the biographer claims. But, Nicholson’s most publicly known love kids are Lorraine, 16, and Raymond, 15, by his ex-girlfriend, actress Rebecca Broussard.

The actor’s penchant for sleeping with lots of women is well known. “I’m interested in sex. I’m preoccupied with sex. I love it,”
