No, you must make sure all traces of fake tan are removed from your treatment site directly before your laser session, fake tan may be worn in between sessions and throughout your course but skin must be completely free from tan on the day of your treatment.
To ensure this you must stop applying this to your treatment area 7-10 days before your session is due, it is essential that all residue of tan is removed from the skin before your laser session.
It is extremely dangerous to have a laser treatment while fake tan is present on the skin.
Please use fake tan with extreme caution during the course of your treatments. If on the day of your treatment tan is still present on the skin your session will be postponed until this has been completely removed.
This only applies to your treatment area and you may continue to use fake tan on other areas of the body that are not having laser treatment.
Fake tan refers to all tans which are not instant, wash off, body foundations or bronzing powders. This rule also applies to formulations that include gradual tanning agents ie moisturisers that include gradual tanning formulations.
Can you wear fake tan in between laser hair removal sessions?
Yes, you may use fake tan in between your sessions but you must stop applying 7-10 days before your laser session is due. If you have particularly dry skin and are aware that tan takes longer to fade you must leave a longer period of time to allow for all residue to be completely removed.

Yes, if you are using an instant wash/wash off tan we would recommend using this 2-3 days before your session but not the day before, it is essential all residue be completely removed from your skin the day/night before your treatment.
Can you apply fake tan on the day of my laser session?
No, skin must be free from all tanning and all other topical products including oils, creams, moisturisers and lotions before your laser hair removal session. Having any of these products on the skin on the day of your session may lead to complications so it is necessary to follow these guidelines.
Tips on how best to remove fake tan before your session:
- Use exfoliating mitts or a tan eraser mitt
- Use a moisturiser after exfoliating to prevent skin from becoming too dry
- Use an exfoliating scrub
- Soak in a hot bath before exfoliating if possible
- Pay attention to dry areas where tan settles ie. elbows, knees, shins etc
