in 2002, creating one of the first medical spas in New York City and coining the term “cosmedical spa”. With a passion for empowering women and men to find confidence in their own bodies, Nicole created a successful business tailored to providing an inviting and personal experience for each and every customer. Just three years after she established Smooth Synergy, Nicole added to her repertoire by formulating her own line of medical-grade, paraben-free skincare products. Alongside her husband Dr. George Liakeas, the medical spa’s resident doctor, Nicole has spent the last 16 years nurturing a warm environment that makes everyone who walks through the doors feel like family.
She opened Smooth Synergy Med Spa as a true believer in the power of finding strength from within. Indeed, Nicole became the “it” girl for positivity in 1997, when she was left at the altar by a gun-shy groom. The media dubbed her “The Jilted Bride”, and the nation tuned into The Today Show with Katie Couric, Oprah and Diane Sawyer to hear the inspiring story of the bride who celebrated at her wedding reception without a groom in tow. She became a symbol of dancing your way through adversity and believing in yourself come what may. This experience remains a touchstone for Nicole to this day, and drives her work to redefine the meaning of beauty. She strives for each of her clients to leave Smooth Synergy with both flawless skin and the inner confidence that comes from looking and feeling your best.
Driven by a lifelong love of learning, Nicole earned a Master’s degree in Education from New York University and spent her early career as a grade school teacher. She brings her natural desire for knowledge to the spa by incorporating the latest cutting edge research and technology to her brand, in order to deliver the highest quality services and products. Always a trailblazer, Nicole’s Med Spa was one of the first to offer laser hair removal in the early 2000’s and is now at the forefront of another rising trend with treatments that help improve women’s sex lives and body confidence.
In addition to taking care of her flourishing business, Nicole is kept busy by her two beautiful daughters, husband, and two dogs. Outside of the office, she can be found browsing the latest fashion and beauty trends, hitting the streets for some of the best shopping in the world, chairing charitable events, and spending time with her friends and large Greek family.
