Smooth Skin With Braun

If anyone knows me, they know I’m slightly obsessed with hair removal. I was cursed with having too much hair (although I do have a great head of hair that I can’t complain about). I remember often being made fun of as a kid for it too which wasn’t always fun. This lead me to become the hair removal expert I am now as an adult. I’ve tried it all and started at a young age experimenting with what works and what doesn’t work. I started with bleaching my mustache as a kid (wish I never did that, I’m convinced it changed the pigment on my upper lip) waxed soon after including the eyebrows. I then finally discovered threading and it’s the only way I handle any facial/eyebrow hair. I’ve waxed my arms, bikini, brazilian you name it, I’ve waxed it. I’ve even done laser hair removal on my underarms and bikini line. Again, I’ve done it all people. I have my favorites for certain reasons, I have my techniques for certain areas. There’s a whole science behind it.

But there was one thing I have yet to try. Epilators. My sister had one of these when we were younger but we were both too scared to try it. So when Braun asked me to try out their new wet/dry Silk-epil 7 epilator for smooth summer skin, I said I HAD to since it was the last thing I have yet to conquer. I ended up getting the one that also comes with a face cleansing brush which I’m pretty stoked about. So now that I am faced with the last and final hair removal method (or at least the last one I could think of for that matter) it was time to try it. I have to admit, I was pretty scared to jump in and do this…. But here’s how to use an epilator.

The process of using an epilator can be a little overwhelming. It’s a little intimidating, it makes a lot of noise and it’s designed to rip your hair out. But the process is easy and you’ll have summer smooth skin in no time.

Using the Silk-epil 7 is actually pretty easy and straight forward. Especially since this one can be used in or out of the shower, whichever is easier for you. First is to prep the hair. Your hair only has to be half a millimeter long, which is basically nothing so it will work on even just stubble. I love this since you don’t have to wait 2-3 weeks for grow out or not be tan (for laser hair removal that was always my issue).

Next, using the Silk-epil 7, you want to go against the hair just like your shaving. The massaging head helps to make the epilation process a little less painful (I promise it’s not that bad) and the light on the Silk-epil 7 helps you see what’s going on which is great for the back of your legs. The pivoting head also becomes essential when going over ankles, knees etc.

The hardest part of the whole process was getting the balls to do this to yourself. It’s easy to get waxed when someone else is pulling the strips off your body, but to inflict some pain on yourself takes a little courage. Once you actually do it though you realize it’s really not that bad and is a great tool to have on hand for hair removal. Plus, it’s supposed to get easier the more you do it. Fingers crossed for that.

That’s it, simple hair removal at home that you don’t have to wait for any hair growth to do. Why haven’t I been doing this all along?
