Now that it’s unofficially the start of summer, many people are counting down the days until they go on their summer vacation.
Summer time means shorts, tank tops and bathing suits for most people. It’s time to shed our winter clothing – and more – to look good for our summer wear. And by “more” I mean hair.
I think many ladies can relate to hating to shave. Men too. We can get away without shaving our legs during the cold winter months because our legs are covered up in pants, jeans and sweats. Once the weather gets warmer we have to ditch the pants for more revealing shorts and capris. The months of not shaving are over.
It’s not just our legs, we have to think about other parts too like under our arms (I won’t discuss other areas women might like to shave).
I am fortunate that my leg hair is so light that it’s clear. You can’t tell if I don’t share my legs – visually. However you can feel it if my legs are not shaved.
Shaving your legs and under your arms is time consuming. But what if there was a way to slow down the growth of your hair so you can shave less often? There is a way. It’s called mē smooth.

I thought about laser hair removal, but it’s simply not a budget friendly option. I also don’t have time to make multiple trips to an office to get the procedure done.
I was thrilled when I was sent a mē smooth to review. I couldn’t wait to get started.
Mē smooth can be used all over your body, including your face.
This is rather embarrassing to talk about, but I get hair on my face. It know it’s a part of growing older, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to give in without a fight.
For years I have had to tweeze and even shave the random hairs that show up on your face. It’s embarrassing! No matter what I do it just comes back again the next day.

I don’t normally have a lot of time after I take a shower, so I have held off using the mē smooth on my legs. Instead, I’ve been using it on my face and under my arms. During the summer when I have more time I’ll use it on my legs.
The mē smooth is a small device that you need to plug in. Once plugged in you need to choose what setting you want (low, medium or high). I started out on low but have since moved up to high.
Once the device is on and you have selected your setting you need to turn on the hand held part of the device.
On one side of the hand held part of the device you’ll see a clear piece with two metal strips on either side. That is the part you put on your skin.
When the metal strips come in contact with your skin it lets off a bright pulse of light. It’s that light that is suppose to kill off the hair so that it doesn’t grow back (like a laser).
Using the hand held piece slowly glide across your skin on the areas you want to remove the hair. The time it takes all depends on the area you are focusing on. For my face and under my arm it takes me about 5 minutes, give or take.
Initially I was afraid to use this. I was concerned that it would hurt or I’d get an electric shock whenever the light flashed. That is not the case at all.
The hand held part does get a bit hot, so it can burn you. The heat is not unbareable. If you happen to hit a cut or some other kind of wound by accident it will hurt. It is also recommended that you not stay on one spot because you could end up burning yourself.
The light it gives off is VERY bright. You might want to wear sunglasses or keep your eyes closed when it in use.

I’ve been using mē smooth for almost two months now.
I won’t say that the product has completely rid my body of hair (on the areas I focused on) but I do believe it has gotten rid of some of the hair. If I stop using the device I do find that some hair does return, but it’s no where close to what it used to be like. What hair that does grow back comes back slowly, so I can go days without having to take care of it.
There are some spots on my face where I have noticed that the hair is gone. There are still other spots where the hair comes back, it just takes a few more days whereas it used to come back the next day. I call that progress.
I have had better luck with it under my arms. The under arm hair seems to be less (meaning there is not as much as their used to be) and I don’t need to shave it as often either.
Even if the device didn’t completely rid my body of unwanted hair, it still helped to slow down the growth so that I can go days without shaving instead of having to do it daily.
Overall I am pleased with the results and I will continue to use the mē smooth, including starting on my legs the end of June when I have more time.
I also like that it comes in a sturdy box to keep the unit in when not in use.
