Dr. Madhavi has more than 11 years experience in dermatology and cosmetology. She did her MBBS from the Andhra Medical College, Vishakapatnam, where she scored distinction in microbiology and pathology. Her strong interest in skin diseases and her interest in skin pathology led her to pursue dermatology residency training at CARE hospitals. She is one of the few doctors in India to have cleared her DNB degree in the first attempt. She has been certified by the National Board of Examinations.
Her strong interest in dermatopathology (the underlying causes of skin diseases), she pursued her dissertation in dermatoscopy which is a non-invasive method for diagnosis of skin conditions. She is one of the few dermatologists in India with vast experience in dermatoscopy. “My husband’s advice, ‘think big and you will become big’. This motto pushed me to start my own center Dr. Madhavi’s Advanced Skin Hair and Laser clinic", says Dr. Madhavi.
She is extensively trained in all facets of dermatology and cosmetology, and is now one of the sought-after dermatologist and cosmetologist in India. Dr. Madhavi has many achievements to her credit including the prestigious Rao Bahadur memorial prize (gold medal) in microbiology, distinctions in pathology and microbiology. She has presented several papers in various state and national level meets. She has actively participated in research in chemical peels, acne, dermatoscopy, and drug trials.
She is adept at various dermato surgical procedures such as skin grafting (Vitiligo surgery), electrocautery and radiofrequency for removal of moles &warts, subcission for acne scar reduction, and podiatric (Foot) surgery for removal of calluses and corns. She has also trained in latest and most effective diode laser surgery for hair reduction, as well as Fractional CO2 laser for scar reduction. According to Dr. Madhavi, the ability to heal patients and really take care of people was a strong motivator that pushed her to always deliver the best. “Cosmetology is not just skin deep. It involves a deep understanding of the patient, and their needs and motivations. I knew that I could make a real change in this segment. I have and continue to be a clinical dermatologist. Nothing is more satisfying than to see patients with critical conditions getting better”, she adds.

She believes that she has been fortunate to be among the group of doctors who developed the field in the state. “Since we are at the forefront of the technology, we are part of the revolutions and evolutions which occur. In effect is us who drive the evolution of the field forward. For example, melanocyte transfer and grafting used to be a niche technology. We have made it available to the masses” she adds.
Since she started her career, Dr. Madhavi has worshipped her work and has been ‘a bit of a workaholic’. She strongly believes that ‘women are blessed with an innate caring ability’.
