But they are very simple to use – plus you get the comfort and convenience of doing treatments in your home.

Who is a good candidate for laser hair removal?
Due to the way laser hair removal works, there are some individuals that won’t be good candidates.
Since laser treatment relies on dark pigmentation to absorb the destructive energy, the ideal candidate would have fair skin and dark hair.
If your skin tone is dark, the laser will be absorbed by your skin moreso than your hair, and you might end up scarring yourself. For the same reason, light colored hair doesn’t absorb as much energy and is quite resilient against laser treatment. Because of this it’s not a good option for red, light blonde, white or grey hair.
What are the alternatives to laser hair removal?

Another great alternative is using an epilator, which removes the unwanted hair by the roots. This is not a permanent hair removal method, but it does give much longer lasting results than shaving, and hair tends to come back thinner and finer when it does regrow.
So… is laser hair removal worth it?
If you’re looking to be done, once and for all, with your hair removal routine – then laser hair removal is worth it. Results may not be completely permanent, but you should be able to reduce hair growth enough that it is no longer a daily concern.
I personally prefer the home laser devices over salon treatments – as I like the convenience of doing the treatments on my own schedule in my comfortable home. And these IPL devices are a great value, when compared to expensive salon treatments.
