Looking in the mirror and finding overgrown brows staring back at you is a nightmare. The first thing you do when this happens is pick up the phone and book an appointment to get them back in shape. For now there are two methods to tame brows – waxing and threading. So when you visit the salon do you have a preference or just go with whatever the expert at the salon advices? We suggest you educate yourself on both these methods to get the best results.
- Threading
- Waxing
Threading
An ancient method of getting rid overgrown brow hair, did you know threading originated in India and was later adopted by the western countries in recent years? Although the process lasts a little longer than waxing, this method allows the expert to have more control and get precise results. When done by a well-trained technician, the pain will be minimal and you should not experience breakouts or redness. It is best for those with sensitive skin as the chances of a reaction are low. Another benefit of threading is that it is far cheaper than waxing.
Waxing
This may be a newer concept in India but it has been around for centuries in other parts of the world. It is far more popular than threading, reason being – the results are longer lasting and quick. Waxing pulls hair from the follicle right below the skin level, therefore hair does not grow back for about three to six weeks. Ask the technician about the kind of wax they are using as all-natural waxes are suitable for even the most sensitive skin types. If you’re comfortable with this method, avoid consuming alcohol or caffeine to minimise the pain. Waxing brows costs slightly higher than threading, however it all depends on type and quality of wax used.
