Steve Carell had a breakthrough moment playing the hilarious boss Micheal Scott on NBC's legacy comedy The Office. However, his name really began to soar in 2005, playing the role of Andy Sitizer in The 40-Year Old Virgin.

Carell, who co-wrote the screenplay with director Judd Apatow, was hilarious in every shape-and-form as Sitizer, a clerk at an electronic's store who, in his 40s, had yet to lose his virginity. The film was a huge hit in 2005 and has become one of the classic comedy films of the 2000s, and it helped make Carell a rising star in the film world. Here are 10 similarly laugh-out-loud moments in the actor's filmography.
Barry And The Stalker - Dinner For Schmucks (2010)
In a film that was somewhat of a mirror image of The 40 Year Old Virgin, Dinner for Schumucks was a hilarious film that stared Carell as Barry, a man who builds dioramas out of stuffed mice.
One memorably funny scene involved Barry becoming really uncomfortable being along with Darla, who was Tim's (Paul Rudd) stalker. Only Carell can make feeling uncomfortable so funny.
The Teleprompter - Bruce Almighty (2003)
Steve Carell was a relative unknown when he cast as TV news anchorman Evan Baxter in the Jim Carrey comedy Bruce Almighty. While Carrey was certainly funny throughout the movie, one of the best scenes came courtesy of Carell.
On a newscast, Carrey set out to embarrass Baxter by making him read some hilarious stuff off of the camera teleprompter. Instead of reading from the script, he continued to read from eh teleprompter controlled by Carrey, and the rest of comedic gold.
The Speed Dating Card - The 40 Year Old Virgin (2005)
The 40-Year-Old Virgin is widely considered Steve Carell's breakout comedic film, and for good reason. There are a number of great moments within the film, with one of them being the speed dating card scene.
Being confronted by Jay's girlfriend about the comments he left on a speed dating card, Carell turns in a hilarious dialog that maybe wouldn't fly in today's culture, though it definitely remains chuckle-worthy, to say the least.
Brick's Eulogy - Anchorman 2 (2013)
Anchorman 2 may have been a bit of a mixed bag for some, especially when out up against the classic first film, but, thanks to Carell, it still had its moments of gut-punching funniness, with one coming early in the film.
Brick, believing that he himself is dead, delivers a drop-dead funny eulogy to himself, further convincing himself that the funeral service is actually for him. He kept his antics up for quite a while before his cohorts broke the news that he was, in fact, still alive.
The Airplane Bathroom - Get Smart (2008)
A remake of the 1960s Mel Brooks comedy series, Get Smart saw Carell embody the role of Maxwell Smart, the bumbling detective that always bumbled his way into solving cases.

In one scene, while he was on an airplane, Smart had a particularly tough time managing a miniature crossbow. The scene was Carell at his comedic best, and, while the movie wasn't all that well-recieved, Carell's acting in this scene was top-notch funny.
Getting Waxed - The 40-Year Old Virgin (2005)
Another classic scene from Carell from this iconic comedy involved him getting a Brazillian wax of his chest hair. Just looking at the scene, you could feel the pain that Carell must have felt when the strips of waxing paper ripped from his chest.
Few comedians can turn pain into comedy as well as Carell can, with the icing on the cake being the doctor and his friends, who were clearly enjoying his pain.
I'm Brick Tamland - Anchorman (2004)
Carell's portrayal of the lovable goof Brick Tamland will forever be one of his greatest film roles. There are many "Brick moments" that viewers can pick out from either Anchorman or Anchorman 2, but
this commercial from the first movie was simply gold. Describing himself for a local commercial, we get to see why Brick is wired the way he is, and his deadpan delivery is what made this short but hilarious seen all the more memorable.

Brick Loves Everything - Anchorman (2004)
You can't help but love Carell's Brick Tamland, and he really shined in 2004's Anchorman. There are many moments viewers could pick from this film, but this one should definitely be considered one of Carell's finest.
In the scene, Brick is looking at many things in Ron Burgandy's office, saying how much he "loves" Ron's carpet and lamp. It was clear that Brick wasn't all there, but it made for a particularly hilarious moment.
Brick Killed A Guy - Anchorman (2004)
Quite possibly one of the funniest fights ever put on screen, Brick wound up impaling a rival San Diego news guy during the film's big showdown. Back in the office reflecting on what happened, Brick had his comedic opus, blurting out "I stabbed a guy in the heart!"
Viewers couldn't help but spit their popcorn out in laughter, and it's one of the many reasons why Steve Carell is one of the funniest guys in Hollywood.
