A man who wanted to surprise his wife by 'manscaping' his privates has described his excruciating ordeal after he fell asleep with the hair removal cream on - and woke up five hours later with a 'chemical burn'.
Reddit user EvilFireblade, believed to be from this US, told how he had planned a romantic trip to England to mark his ten-year anniversary with his wife.
He says he knew his wife had 'meticulously womanscaped her area' for the occasion so he decided to return the favour and invested in some hair removal cream.

'I keep the area nice, but I'm gunna go full retard and napalm the area,' he wrote on Reddit's TIFU (Today I F***** Up) channel, explaining that he had opted for a cream aimed at 'sensitive areas'.
But he confessed that when he got home he had 'ignored the warning' about applying the cream directly to genitals - and after the hair didn't budge after the recommended ten minutes, he went in for round two.

'So I try again, liberally apply the rest of the bottle back onto the area, put my boxers on to hide what I'm doing from the wife; it's still a surprise... and sit on the couch and fire up some Youtube,' he recalled.
After planning to leave it on for 15 minutes this time, however, he woke up five hours later to find that his nether regions are 'numb, very numb'.
'I stand up slowly and I can feel cracking, I can feel things falling down my pants leg,' he wrote.
'As I slowly penguin over to the bathroom, a trail of crusted pieces of Nair falling to the floor behind me, I gently pull my boxers away from the skin, and pieces of what looks like skin are coming with it.
'This isn't good. The Nair has dried and has adhered to my skin.'
He immediately ran a cold bath, only to find that the water was turning red with blood, confessing: 'This is where the panic sets in'.
His next step was to remove the rest of the cream and try some baby oil - which only makes it worse.
'I've never cried so hard in my life,' he said. 'It was as if Cthulu had fisted my frank and beans with a flaming iron bar. Apparently you don't put oil on burns.'
He found himself with a 'severe chemical burn on my junk' just hours before he was due to board a flight to England for his 'very sexless anniversary vacation'.
The worst part, he added, was that 'most of the hair' was still there. 'I set out on a mission to go full retard and napalm the shrubbery and all I managed to achieve was to scorch the earth,' he wrote.
Fellow Redditors rushed to offer advice, with a general surgeon urging him to visit a doctor as soon as possible and to use a special ointment to avoid infection.
EvilFireblade later confirmed that he had visited a medical centre and, when asked how he managed to leave the cream on for so long, he explained: 'Sat down on the couch with a beer to kill 15 minutes watching Netflix.
'I'd already grew bored of all the games on my phone waiting on the first 10 minute attempt. Fell asleep. Didn't spill the beer though. That's the important part I guess.'
The man later confirmed that he had visited a medical centre and, when asked how he managed to leave the cream on for so long, he said: 'Sat down on the couch with a beer'
